Remember, whichever moneybags buys the club, they are buying its value, its earning potential, its assets, etc. Whatever profit FSG reaps, its not like the club is somehow something less than it was before. In fact its financial value has gone way, way up. Anyone buying is going to want to maintain that, not tear it down. The reasons the current ownership will benefit from the sale someday are a good thing for the club long term, not a bad thing.

      It's the debt-financed purchases that are killers to a club's long-term future.

how many suitable people have £3 billion to spare . So whatever way you look at it £3billion is going out of the club into FSG that cannot be disputed. How the purchase is financed then is open for debate but there are a very small pool of Scouse loving, Beatle Loving ,football nuts in this world and we may end up with the Glazers who now want £4 billion for UTD.  If you think FSG are good owners, they are until they sell and they cash in on "their" good work. Football needs to fail financially so we can get back to it being all about what happens on the pitch since 2007 there has been as much talk about finance and spending as there has about football.
People like to mock history and tradition and without Jürgen being in charge heaven knows where we would be now but he has managed to keep the soul of the club intact and is the most important person we have I just hope he stays for a long time

Anyone who sincerely believes FSG will ever sell LFC is beyond delusional and has his head up his own arse.
FSG is in the business of building its global sports empire, not flipping teams.
Their next flip will be their first.
Their Red Sox ownership is on its 19th year and there has never been a hint that this group would ever be interested in selling.
Their LFC ownership is on its 11th year and FSG has consistently rejected any notion that this team in on the selling block....quite the contrary in fact.

Reports are that FSG is keen on expanding its football footprint in similar fashion to Red Bulls' multi-team platform.
Do the geniuses on this board truly believe FSG has interest purchasing feeder teams without LFC positioned at the top of their pyramid?

This group may not have an infinite pile of money to draw on like the oil cartel and hobbyist oligarch teams but they are the next best thing.
Their financial expertise, marketing savvy, and a willingness to write big checks in order to win has been their modus operandi in Boston for the past two decades and the Red Sox' on field success during that time has been unmatched by the rest of Major League Baseball.
The Red Sox consistently have a top 5 payroll in baseball and it is not unusual for that team to be the #1 spender despite having that league's smallest venue.

And in case you haven't noticed, they have brought this formula to Liverpool and the team has thrived and prospered and as you will soon see again, FSG will invest heavily when needed, because that's what they historically have done, in Boston and in Liverpool.
Yes, they are outsiders .....outsiders who have rejuvenated and elevated LFC fiscally and on the field.

Gotta ask, why aren't more wealthy Brits up to the task of PL ownership?
I suspect because many who could afford such a purchase prefer not to throw good money after bad, especially when competing financially vs. Nation States.
      Who can blame them.

Yet you have an ownership group who has proven they can compete and thrive vs these unlimited resource teams..........
...........and many here want to replace them?

      Fascinating

If Gary Neville hadn’t become a footballer and pontificating pundit, he would’ve been out there on the pitch, in amongst it all, stirring the sh*t and running across the pitch with a gold and green tattoo on his forehead. Think the Q’Anon Shaman but in fact a RAT.

      [...]

FSG will invest heavily when needed, because that's what they historically have done, in Boston and in Liverpool.

It's you got your head up your arse if you've spotted FSG spending a single one of their own US cents on the Liverpool playing squad. Every penny has been generated by Liverpool the club, off its own bat.

I couldn't give a flying sh*te about Boston and the colour of their socks and their half-and-half-scarf dickhead fans that seem to have attached themselves to LFC like coronavirus attaches itself to a human lung. They can all f**k off out of it.

FSG fans talk sh*te; have no clue what the word investment means.

In a nutshell: in the best case scenario for FSG, where FFP was supposed to work and provide something of a level playing field, FSG invested £0.00 in the LFC playing squad.

Now that FFP is dead, the entire premise on which FSG invested in LFC is in tatters. Yes the TV money is still there just about (but rumoured to be artificially propped up for the next few years); yes the fans will still fill the stadium. But unless the Premier League step in (they won't) or the government legislate (they won't) top flight football is going to immediately revert to which owner has the biggest pockets: Manchester City, Chelsea, we'll even get to see just how much money is behind Everton and it's a f**k sight more than is behind LFC that's for sure, with FSG's £0.00 investment in the playing staff in 10 years.

The current valuation of LFC is based on several seasons of success in Europe not far off the glory days of the late 70s. But we're not gonna make the CL next season and it's entirely possible not the one after. The value of FSG's investment is going to start dropping.

I've already posted several times that now is not the time to be protesting against FSG, as tempting as it is to try to keep momentum up on owners of 'the greedy six'. But FSG's next move is critical. They can either speculate to accumulate - and that means directly investing in the playing squad - or they can see the club inevitably slide into mid-table due to lack of direct investment in the playing squad. Plenty of people have shown the correlation between (a) final position in the league table, and (b) spend on the playing squad (salaries + transfer net spend). So if we were say 10th out of 20 clubs in terms of playing squad spend, it's not looking good for finishing in the top 4. Yes Klopp might be able to continue to work miracles but there's no guarantee he will. Look at this season when the quality of players available to him has been badly hit. Start selling our best players and replacing them with inferior players and risky gambles (hello Alonso, Leiva, Aquilani) and Klopp's final three years could start looking like the back end of Rafa's reign.

If that happens we'll soon see whether John Henry won't ever sell LFC. Let's face it, he already looks like someone only being kept alive by artificial means. There'll be Reds looking to test just how good his batteries are.

when you think of FSG just think of what Bill Shankly would have said...He is still our guide and mentor. However they may be the best available in this present era but remember how The idiot Parry thought DIC were not suitable but Hicks and Gillette were?.
I cant think of a single Billionaire who earned it by working hard you have to be a nasty piece of work to get that wealthy.
This is a definitive summer for the club and its going to mean huge investment to compete with City,UTD and Chelsea if they dont want to compete with these clubs financially just f**k off because money is king now in the EPL

      Good post,

I think we have enough in the tank for another title  tilt next season, but beyond that we really need to start planning and start rebuilding now, FSG know this and are relying on Jürgen and the current squad to deliver again,

After the ESL f**k up they could ease supporters wrath if they would prove enough funds for the rebuild to begin, in short, give Jürgen the finances to go and buy who he feels will take us onto the next phase, it is without question that they will need to dig deep over the next 2/3 seasons in order for us to keep up with the Jones’s,

Most of our bigger guns are now approaching their latter years in terms of peaking and will be phased out gradually, so the replacement’s need to be found and integrated starting this summer so as the transition will be as smooth as possible, it is my belief that Jota was the first of those to come in, Konate if he arrives would be another, wee Harvey Elliot has a bright future with us too, and perhaps maybe one or two more of the ressies,

But digging deep isn’t in the FSG vocabulary, only monies generated by pitchside success is their mantra, but, the goalposts have changed, pardon the pun, and E6X is spot on, J W and his wee greedy mates need to change their mantra perhaps for a window or two and provide the readies for further successes, otherwise they too will become like the Glazers albeit without the debt,

Their hardly going to lose out are they, so like E6X said they need to speculate to accumulate and that will mean a lot of happy faces amongst those who want them out, not too mention those who don’t,

I hated what they tried to do to our club, this will never be forgotten, certainly not on the Kop that’s for sure, but, like a lot has said, be careful what you wish for, Jürgen is right, their not bad ppl, they just made a catastrophic error of judgement, had they burdened us with debt like the Glazers have at Scumland it would be different and a lot worse for them, we all know that, H&G are proof of that,

Best thing they can do to repair the damage is back Jürgen 100%, no quiffs, no dragging of feet, give the fella what he wants and he will deliver, hasn’t he proved already that he can ? So let him finish his project, give him the tools he needs to leave his legacy, then FSG, you never know, we just might forgive you.

Amongst all the garbage in this post, this part stinks the most.

Jürgen has at his disposal a squad with WORLD CLASS players at every position with one of the most expensive wages in the league. WTF are you talking about "working miracles". He's not being asked to win with a championship team for fucks sake.

FSG are quite content to see their investment bobbing about the top 5 mark, under their tenure the club has under-achieved until the success of last season and the market value stands at £2bn

With the improved.commercial set-up that side of the business is well adjusted for any downturn for whatever reason, no doubt FSG do not lose any slumber fretting over League or European winners medals.

There is concern if reports are to be believed, that the the owners are concerned about the empty seats on match day, it appears this is the only concern they have.

'World class' has as many definitions as there are people who have ever said or written it. Your definition must be at the looser end.

4 of our players got in the world XI: Alisson, Trent, Virg, Thiago. Yes, the rest of their teammates are of that ilk or near it.

FSG didn't spend a single penny on any of these players. LFC (directly thanks to Klopp's onfield success) paid for 3 and Klopp and the academy can claim the glory for Trent.

Our 18/19 season, losing the title by 11mm to the highest points amassing side in league history, a club who spend £200m on left backs every summer, is about as close to an LFC miracle as I've ever seen. I'm not using 'miracle' in the sense of Klopp arriving at Anfield on a flying carpet or whatever (a 'world class' miracle). A barely achievable football miracle.

Our 19/20 season, belting out something like 24 wins and a draw from the first 25 games is unrivalled in history and I doubt it will ever be beaten. That's about as close to a footballing miracle as you're ever likely to see.

Klopp's responsible for all this. I haven't even mentioned Big Ears 6 incl the 4-0 'impossible' comeback against Barcelona.

Klopp's the best manager we've ever had, and I watched Bob's sides home and away, Joe's year, and Kenny's up until Hillsborough. Never thought I'd ever say we'd have a better manager than Bob but Juergen's overtaken him in my book. He's an amazing human being. Wasted at LFC mind. If he was in charge of clearing up Covid-19, he'd have made a f**k sight better job of it than most governments around the world. Possibly all of them. He could basically do anything he wanted and make a massive success out of it. He's a super-achiever.

Hopefully the 15th or 16th, so the cheeky cu*ts don't get 10,000 in for the replayed game!!

Hopefully the same fans who caused the postponement. :lmao:
