I thought the 4-3 win against Newcastle would have been heard of by now. According to Sky, it was the best night ever.

Was at both games. Football wise, the first one is a F***ing brilliant game of attacking footy, atmosphere wise it's nowhere near some of the biggest nights seen at Anfield.

Yeah agree mate, I was at both too, and yeah the first is maybe one of my favourite games to be at but atmosphere wise it’s not in the top 20

May 4th 1976 winning the title at molineux.
Special night that. Scousers here, scousers there, scousers every F***ing where.
Reds pretty much took over the stadium that night.
On the stand roof, on people’s houses. Hundreds pouring through a gate that burst open pre match.
Amazing atmosphere, especially after going a goal down, and wining 1:3.
Etched in my memory till my end.

Ha ha ha. It was a police horse got squashed against the gate, and that and the surging crowd forced it open. Don’t think it was intentional, but hundreds took advantage.
I was at the first turn style from the gate, about 4 back when the gate burst. I almost went for it, but thought with my luck, it’ll close before I get there, and I’d lose my place in the queue after 40 mins, so I stayed where I was.
A night embedded in my memory.
Even the journey home, hitching a lift back to Swindon area, and got set on by a Bunch  of wolves fans in a subway. But that’s another story. 😊

My Dad was at that game too.  Wolves needed to win to stay up.  We needed a win or a low-scoring draw (1-1 was OK, 2-2 was not).  Wolves were ahead until 15 minutes to go.  The first time I remember really following a game as I was glued to the radio.  After the third goal it looks like 100s spilled over onto the field in celebration.

Yeah, wolves were relegated, but not entirely by that result. Derby beat QPR so wolves would still have been relegated if they’d beat us, and because QPR lost, we would still have been champ if we’d lost, I think.
      Crazy crazy night though.

Derby came 4th that season.  QPR had finished their season over a week before this game was played.

23rd April 1973 told my Dad me and my mate would go in the Boys pen but we got there just after 12 o'clock to queue up for the Kop against Leeds. The day lives in my memory now and how we were looked after in a Kop with 25,000 in it. I see it on Youtube and cant believe I was there and can still "feel" the goals going in.

      14th Apr 2016

      Liverpool 4-3 Dortmund

It was strange but great, a short silence when we went two down to a kind of collective knowledge that we were going to win. Even when Reus made it 1-3, we knew.
