Who's Your Money On (Premier League XI Appearances)
      May 16, 2021 11:39:38 am
So before Sadio Mane makes his 160th Premier League appearance for us and becomes our 22nd highest appearance maker in the division, I thought we'd have some fun and pick which team we'd go for if the teams were based solely on how many Premier League appearances they made for the club.

Here are the teams in full

      1st XI (4-3-3)

      Reina (5th)
      Carragher (1st) Skrtel (8th) Hyypia (3rd) Riise (10th)
      Henderson (4th) Lucas (7th) Redknapp (11th)
      Gerrard (2nd) Fowler (6th) McManaman (9th)

      2nd XI (3-5-2)

      James (13th)
      Johnson (22nd) Agger (18th) Milner (19th)
      Kuyt (14th) Wijnaldum (17th) Hamann (16th) Murphy (20th) Barnes (21st)
      Firmino (15th) Owen (12th)

      3rd XI (4-3-3)

      Mignolet (24th)
      Finnan (29th) Jones (25th) Wright (33rd) Bjornebye (32nd)
      Coutinho (26th) Alonso (30th) Berger (28th)
      Salah (31st) Heskey (27th) Mane (23rd)

      4th XI (5-3-2)

      Dudek (40th)
      Alexander-Arnold (42nd) Henchoz (34th) Lovren (35th) Babb (39th) Robertson (37th)
      Lallana (38th) Matteo (41st) Smicer (43rd)
      Rush (36th) Sturridge (44th)

      5th XI (3-4-3)

      Alisson (52nd)
      Matip (54th) Van Dijk (53rd) Ruddock (45th)
      McAteer (50th) Can (46th) Thomas (48th) Sterling (55th)
      Suarez (47th) Torres (49th) Origi (51st)

Personally I'd go for the 1st XI just because it contains Robbie Fowler in but I think all five could make a strong argument as to why they'd be the one you'd go for.

1st XI for me Fowler, Stevie and Macca that £400 mil for a start but has there ever been a better goalkeeper than Pepe at celebrating a goal.

2nd and 3rd team not for me:
      1st is best. 5th a close second.

4th I wasn’t sure of but looking at it most are champions league winners and league winners.

Team 3 is actually tasty but Rob Jobes at centre half and alongside Stephen Wright woukd surely kill them

I'm taking team 5. Heavy metal football.....if Matip stays fit enough to help out Virgil that scoring lineup is deadly.

Team 5 smashes it for me, not even close, Virg and Luis in the same side is just cheating

      Great thread.

I like the 5th group. The 3rd is also strong except for Simon in goal.
