Yes you are, you have no idea the trouble of trying to find a site, and list of players, that does not have that pain in the arse cookies permission bollocks, that you can navigate past, then copying and pasting the names that you can remember playing a significant number of games to include.

But here it is, if there is anyone I've missed just ask for them to be included.

Gone for Fabinho.  Had to wear a lot of hats this season, but no doubt about it that his return to midfield was what ensured we ended the last 10 unbeaten.

Most consistent player of the season, no dips in form.

Without a doubt Salah when his two partners misfired badly he rose to the challenge.

Gone for Fabinho.  Had to wear a lot of hats this season, but no doubt about it that his return to midfield was what ensured we ended the last 10 unbeaten.

Agree with the first part, but not the last part, he's possibly been our worst player in the last 4 games, looking physically worn out and offering almost no protection to the young lads at the back. Last 10 unbeaten was down to pretty much the whole team raising their games and returning to the 'mentality monsters' psyche, barring a couple of late goal blips against Newcastle and whoever the other side was.

But yeah over the season I've narrowly gone for Fabinho, for the same reason that he's had to be consistently very good in multiple positions, though if Thiago hadn't been assaulted by Richarlison I think he would have won POTY by Christmas he'd have been so far ahead on MOTM awards, he's been imperious on this run-in; I almost can't wait for next season to start he's been that good.

Can understand the Salah shouts in terms of his goals, but the cryarsing to the Spanish press about Trent being given the captaincy in one measly game means any vote for Mo is impossible for me, it's not the sort of behaviour I expect from a Liverpool player. You don't get to be Liverpool skipper just cos you wore a "Never give up" t-shirt on the sidelines while your teammates are the ones on the pitch not giving up.

People see patterns that may be complete coincidences all the time. Trent's supposed surge in form being down to the most ruthless man in world football, Mister Gareth Waistcoats? Fabinho's return at 6 coinciding with an unbeaten last 10 games?

Me I've got one of my own. Mo whingeing to the Spanish media about Trent being captain seemed to kick off our disastrous run of home games and Mo's inability to hit a barn door with a banjo. Also around that time, Mo's bellend of an agent posting that full stop tweet.

Not been a good year for agents of LFC players: Mo's agent's full stop tweet and bouncing Mo around interviews with Spanish media outlets; Keita's agent having a go at Klopp for failing to recognise that Naby is the playmaker lovechild of JJ Okocha and Yaya Touré; Gini's agent possibly partly responsible (with Edwards) for mis-negotiating his client out of LFC and into the job centre by the looks of things yesterday.

Some of our players need to spend the off season considering whether their agent might actually be the best person for the job...

Fabinho for being a rock in whatever position he played.

Fantastic year for him. Played great in either midfield or CB.

During the 15 games when our season collapsed and we were getting shutout 9x, Salah only scored from open play in 2 of those 15 games, spanning 3 months. He was probably our worst player during that time since he does not do much else than scoring, while Fab was battling day in and out holding down the fort defensively.

Ben Davies ?! must be the most disappointed player of the year. Zero seconds of game time.
      Hard to pick.
Ali's done well, and scored goal of the season :)
In defense Nat has been outstanding, given where he started from, ending up a relative rock in the centre. And Robbo incredibly played 50 games.
Thiago in the middle has had it tough in a struggling side, but showed what he can do toward the end of the season. Fab also did well.
And Mo up front nearly getting the golden boot in a poor enough season for us.

Went for Nat though, from the gut more than from the head :)

I think it has to be Salah. Fabinho showed how valuable he is...but when he was playing CB we didn't win any of those games so I don't know that it makes him worthy of player of the year.

Fabinho hardly put a foot wrong in CB, in fact he looked as good as any of our main CBs in a position he didn't want to play. Coming back out to midfield he turned our form around.

Not his best by a mile. 16 goals from open play is half from what he put in his first year here.

In the last 10 games where we picked up form he scored in 5 of them of which 4 really impacted the game. His last minute goal against United is when we were already up 3-2 and had no impact on getting the points.

Goals aren't the only way a scorer impacts the game, I think we see that with Bobby. He (Mo) makes teams have to adjust and pay him attention which certainly affects the game for others. Especially when Bobby and Mane were struggling a little bit, Mo had a lot more consistency and was at least still an active threat (from the opponents perspective).

Went for Jota. He scored many game changing goals and at some stage of the season, he was basically our only goal threat while our front 3 was struggling. I also don't remember him having a bad game.
To be fair, he was not our best player over the entire season, but that's only because he got injured (same as Thiago). However I'd argue he was the standout performer.

      Honourable mentions:
      Fab, Mr Reliable
      Mo, for his goals
Ali, difficult season (on and mostly off the pitch) but was there when it mattered
Nat, for stepping up in the latter stages

None of our front 3 had a great year to be honest. The shots to goals ratio this season was poor. Jota if he'd stayed fit would probably have been our most clinical finisher.

Fab had a good season but actually didn't play all that well in the run in. Thiago was the one that transformed us in the middle of the park although putting Fab as protection for him did help (and he did play well when he was initially moved back into the midfield before tailing off).

I know a lot of people think Robbo had a sh*te season but I think considering he had to babysit the centre halves he still had a strong season, certainly defensively where he shut down that left side really well. I think with some quicker centre halves back there from next season we'll see him back on the front foot more in an attacking sense too.

Think it has to be Salah for me. Not his best season but still hit 20+ goals and was a constant threat to opposing teams. I wouldn't go as far as saying he got us top four by himself (Thiago and Trent were superb in the last 10 games) but it was a hell of a contribution again.

That’s a flawed  and simple argument as it doesn’t acknowledge his contribution in the Champions League as he single handedly got us past Leipzig. One could apply the same logic and lament Fabinho for his lack of clean sheets at the back during the same barren period.  Your interpretation of battling is subjective and simplistic whilst having same application for Salah at the other end. He doesn’t get many chances on a platter and majority of his goals are individual graft. “Shutouts” don’t exist not even in “soccer” maybe NHL is more applicable.

Take Salahs goals out of the picture his availability and we’re nowhere near 3rd. Salah player of the year.

Quality was slightly down on crossing yes, but he played every game to a very high level.

And the only guy to start every premier league game.

Salah, Fab & big Nat for sure up there too.

Jota & thiago injured too much to be counted IMO. as much as they have had brillaint spells.

Guess what cousin? The numbers are in and his 22 goals have contributed directly to 17 points this season. More than any other player in the league this year!

Lesson here is stay away from American sports and compare sh*t stats - win sh*t prizes.

And the only guy to start every premier league game.

Salah, Fab & big Nat for sure up there too.

Jota & thiago injured too much to be counted IMO. as much as they have had brillaint spells.

For me, him and Mane reduced their form and were not any near being Player of the Year. I'm not saying that they are below-par, just were not POTY.

Salah all the way for me.

Guess what cousin? The numbers are in and his 22 goals have contributed directly to 17 points this season. More than any other player in the league this year!

Lesson here is stay away from American sports and compare sh*t stats - win sh*t prizes.

But not all his 22 were perfect. Some were miskicked, some were deflections, some were just plain lucky. And therefore... is this important? A striker is not good enough when he doesn't score and when he does, his contribution disappoints???

Remove all his goals and we'll be at least 17 points poorer. Nailed it for me. Almost winning the golden boot is exceptional enough. A job well done for the season and looking forward to the next.

Greedy b***ard and thank god he is. His stats are just off the charts and he is a team player by virtue of scoring the most goals puts his team in winning positions.

actually Salah winning the POTY is very consistent with American sports, where they take the easy way out and the guy with the most goals / homeruns / points often wins the personal award.

I went for Fab. Taking out of midfield in hindsight was a terrible decision, but he delivers consistently wherever he plays. Along with Alisson, Virgil and Salah one of the first names on the team sheet.

Hendo and Fab did a great job for the team playing out of position for the team. The two new rocks at the centre of our defence shut the F***ing SKY experts up and sured up our defense to give us an end to season we could never dream of just 2 months ago. Jota was outstanding when he played, Mo,Sadio and bobby still did a great job but Ali deserves a special mention for all he has been through he goes and scores a goal that is just mind blowing in its importance.
In all honesty I couldnt really pick one player.

I do not can about the Golden boot if we win the last two you mention. Look at Kane and Son, both went brilliant but their team was dipped so much.

I prefer to have the team as POTY.

It's Salah for me without a second thought.

Consistent scoring yet again and without that who knows where we might have ended up

I could make an argument for all of them given the last 10 games . I went for Ali because he normally goes under the Radar. I love Mo ,Fab and the boys the last 10 games have proved we are ready to compete again next season and with Virgil, Joe and Hendo in the side but more importantly for me our fans both home and away are just the heart and soul of the club I would vote for them for how they have been missed

Has to be Fabinho for me - solid in midfield and stepped in to shore up the defence.

We wouldn't have finished 3rd without Mo's goals, so an honourable shout to him.

I'm sure Jota would have been in the mix if, like most of the team at one time or another, he hadn't been injured for so long

I understand the love in for Mo, goals wins you games and he has a consistency of a world class striker, but he isn’t a striker as we all know, we’ve not had a striker for the last 5 campaigns, just like Citeh have this season which they keep reminding us of…..ANYHOO….

…..My vote goes to Fabinho, without him at the back F**k knows where we would be now, yes we did recover somewhat, once Jürgen had more trust in Nat & Rhys, but Fab at the back was fab, and he’s not a Center Back…but he played as such with aplomb, and besides, striker’s, attacker’s always always get the plaudits, see Balon d’or winners last 50 centuries, no defenders, keepers or midfielders in sight….

      FABINHO, Your The Man !

      1. Fabinho
      2. Salah
      3. Alisson

and yet some Liverpool fans still question him as they do Jürgen. Watched his goals on LFCTV today just sublime some of them only he could score.

You have to question if they are really Liverpool fans though, don’t you 😉

I haven't read this thread yet.

I will. Please, though, if you haven't voted for Fab, can you at least tip your f**king hat to him? Seems a long time ago that he was holding it down at CB like the best f**king CB in the league from out of f**king nowhere when we needed him most. If you didn't vote for him, I get it, but don't forget that shift he put in, there. It was very important.

I'm also aware that you may have mentioned him if you didn't vote for him, like I said, not read the thread.
