I would say very good. He'd take the ball off Mo and score everything himself.

Salah is top dog on offense for us as the biggest beneficiary of our offensive set up. Kane isn't going to come here to press and make runs to open space for Salah to run into and score the goals, nor is Salah going to be happy having to do work defensively for Kane's benefit and no longer be top dog.

leaving Melwood mid season was not a smart move either

We left Melwood because we had to. We were supposed to go last summer. We left with 30 league games still to go.

A month ago we were 8th. Fantastic recovery.

3rd, not too shabby all considered.

Sky were getting very excited that we had apparantly "dropped out" of the top 4 after 15 minutes (aided by that awful commentator and his annoying high pitched shrieks) by their "As It Stands" table. There never is such a table. The first thing you see in any table is Games PLAYED, not games in progress. So the points count (and other stats) after games are completed, not a minute before. Giving people fictitious tables after every development is misleading, as it usually changes several more times well before the final whistle. So it's just pointless to confuse the viewer/listener/reader, and get their hopes up/down while there's still so much still to play itself out.

We started the game in 4th and we ended it in 3rd. Going into the Southampton game, we were 10 points off 4th. Two weeks later, we finished 3rd and with a bit to spare. It's the 5th year running, that we've qualified for the European Cup, meaning Jürgen has done it in every one of his full seasons here. It's not remotely close to winning the league in terms of achievements, but at least it's some form of respectability, and we've finished the season on a high. Hopefully we'll take it into next season. Pre season is just 6 weeks away.

The next thing to look out for is the fixture list in 3 weeks. Hopefully we'll get to play the biggest games such as the derby and City at home, at a time when confidence is high and the squad is fully stocked. Because if we want to win the league next year, then it's going to need to be.
