      From the official site:

Liverpool's pre-season programme will begin on Monday July 12 with a training camp in Austria.

The Reds will start preparations for the 2021-22 campaign in the state of Salzburg, with a number of senior players set to report for duty on day one as part of a 34-man squad.

Jürgen Klopp’s side will also undertake work across Austria at a base in Tyrol later in the camp.

New signing Ibrahima Konate is among the players due to begin training on Monday following his transfer from RB Leipzig.

Details of Liverpool’s warm-up fixtures, and subsequent broadcast details, will be confirmed in due course.

Assistant manager Pepijn Lijnders said: “We look forward to going to Austria again for the start of our pre-season. All the conditions to prepare the team there are just at a very high level.

“We will use this to go back to basics. When you ask a lot from your players you have to give a lot as well – and we find all of this in Austria.”

Players reporting for pre-season training on July 12

James Milner, Adrian, Ben Davies, Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain, Ibrahima Konate, Joel Matip, Nat Phillips, Divock Origi, Ben Woodburn, Rhys Williams, Virgil van Dijk, Joe Gomez, Trent Alexander-Arnold, Kostas Tsimikas, Caoimhin Kelleher, Sadio Mane, Mohamed Salah, Naby Keita, Curtis Jones, Taiwo Awoniyi, Marko Grujic, Harvey Elliott, Loris Karius, Takumi Minamino, Jake Cain, Leighton Clarkson, Marcelo Pitaluga, Harvey Davies, Billy Koumetio, Owen Beck, Kaide Gordon, Mateusz Musialowski, Tyler Morton, Conor Bradley."

Players who will be out for longer include Hendo, Bobby, Ali, Fab, Jota and Shaqiri.

I've had my break. I'll watch England-Italy and Brazil-Argentina this weekend and then it's full-time Liverpool following from then on.

I read rumours that Klopp is willing to introduce Harvey Elliott to the first team this season. It would be great if he made the grade. Let's hope he and the rest have a great pre season. Wonderful to see them back in training.

I'm genuinely excited to watch Elliott, he's got a huge amount of confidence and skill the lad and I get the feeling he's going to be a star. 🤞

He's a gem, we need him to step up.

Playing German teams also training in Austria. Sounds like a plan. We will be down there at least 17 days. This team is going to be READY for the start of the season.

Just wondering who will still be with the club/squad by the end of camp.

If his development continues at the same pace, he could very well be a superstar.

I've got really high hopes for the lad, and I'm hoping he gets game time for us next season instead of another loan.

Konate seems pretty well built for a young lad. Will fit in quite nicely in the squad.

      Lad is a physical specimen.

Can't wait to see him in action for us.

Didn't realize he had come back from Berlin. Rather have him as backup than Adrian  :f_doh:

That doesn't bode well for us if our players made him look sharp....  :f_tongueincheek:

I think that Klopp said that Matip is back to full fitness and I would play him next Konate. Both know German well so will be good for communication as Gomez and VVD are back to training but not full training. I will keep Phillips as their reserve.

      Trent    Matip    Konate     Tsimikas

So we will allow VVD, Gomez and Robertson their needed time to get back to full training without any rush decisions.

Henderson and Alisson I would send straight to the starting XI.

Watch out for the Polish kid to begin featuring with the first team this season. Sounds like he is making a good impression at training camp.

I notice Pep Ljinders singled out Oxlade-Chamberlin for scoring some great goals so far. I guess it will be an other week before we get to see anything for ourselves, but we know where Jürgen's methods are concerned, what happens now makes a big difference to being able to carry out his plan for the season.

It's back!!! So excited to get back to LFC football again!

The euros or WC is always a nice distraction, losing the final was is a but like losing the league cup, your gutted for 24 hours but then you get over it!

Can't wait to see the lads back in action! Also its good to know the likes of Salah and Mane have had a decent rest plus no messing about with transatlantic tours to thailand, Oz or US this year!
