I believe City started off slow last season as well then took off. They're too talented and Pep is a good coach so they should be up there this season as well.

Despite the United win, no one who saw this game walks away thinking "i'm impressed by that United team". WH gave them plenty of trouble the first half then Moysie decided to stop playing and handed the ball to them and that L falls on him and shitty coaching rather than a strong performance by United.

There is a gulf between the top 3 of Liverpool, Chelsea, City and United.

Good point. Still solid favourites are City. They find their mojo in the winter usually such are the benefits of having a world class, multi hundred million reserve squad.

Obvious he was going to miss that penalty, it’s never a good idea sending a player on in circumstances like that.

United got away with one again today, this was a common theme for them last season too. But it’s good to see that they still seem incapable of not letting in goals, even with the addition of Varane.

What did we get away with KK? Dispite the first 15/20 mins where the Hammers were on top we dominated the game, if anything we made hard work of scoring the winner, chance after chance they all went begging.

Whilst I agree United not playing like a team to get excited on presently it's still better than last year. It's a forward move but as a supporter still frustrating for me as I know if Fergie had been the manager today we would of scored least four goals.

United not showing the killer punch just yet, I put it down to the way the players are told to play. Long term I think your pretty safe United not winning the league  as long as Ole at the wheel.

1-0 down and then the opposition having chance to get the draw in the 95th minute is getting away with it regardless of number of chances and dominance. That final minute or so very nearly cost you the 3 points, massive stroke of luck that it didn’t.

United won at a tricky venue. I think they deserved it.
I think they can win the title, but they would need us, city and Chelsea to not reach the levels we know we can. If those three teams under perform I think united have a chance.

Spurs and Chelsea is an interesting battle as well.
And I’m glad Newcastle and Burnley are in the drop zone...

United dominated possession the last 40-50mins when WH packed it in, yes, but it’s not like you guys were pummeling their goalie and dragging them around. You had the ball but not a lot of output outside of a couple theatrical dives. The opposition missing a penalty in the 94th minute is getting  away with it.

Yeah as it is the norm these days players diving, I don't agree with it but it's sadly part of the game, don't say you lads don't do it coz you do. We're no different from any other club at diving for penalties now.

Can’t even get a shot on target against them, I hate the way they’re so compact and resolute. Football is boring but efficient.

The guy we got instead is better 😉

Werner will leave soon - maybe even in Jan - back to Germany

Chavs just don't look like conceding goals. Tuchel got them solid at the back, impressive is a under statement in such a short space of time.

The data sample is not good enough, but right now these seem to be the title contenders: Liverpool, ManCity, Chelsea. Out of them Chelsea looks most dangerous right now.

It’s not tinted glasses at all, I have no problem saying you were the better team, I fully expected a United win. But my point is that if a team is facing a penalty right at the end of the game, where if it’s scored then you miss out on 3 points, then it’s definitely getting away with it if the penalty is missed. Literally 1 kick away from dropping 2 points regardless of who the better team was and how many chances there were throughout the game.

I’d have absolutely no issue with saying we’d gotten away with one if it was us in that situation.

      Idiotic call.

Only because he missed. You don't need to be warmed up to take a penalty, especially when you're the main taker. There isn't much to it tbh. One shot by the attacker v the goalkeeper, where the attacker holds all the cards. Salah scored one with his first touch in Madrid, despite the 80 second delay between getting it and taking it. It's a basic skill of the game you can either do it or you can't.

They could be 9 points behind us after the next two games, and if so, that's going to be a long way back for them. When you need 90-95 points to win a league, you can't afford slow starts. As we know very well, you can lose it by October. They started slow last season, but got away with it. When they started slow 2 years ago, we were 8 points clear by the October break and won it with 7 games to go. And this season is going to be more similiar to that year than last year.

Are you comparing Salah to Noble?  :lmao:
Noble is an old, fat, bottom of the table level player, he probably needs to warm up to get his socks on in the morning… he’s half the level of Milner and he’s older than him… of course he needs a warm up.
