Just a special mention, those were the first goals Torres had scored in the CL for Liverpool.

Dont you just love Rafa?  The first thing he said was he's like to thank all the fans  ;) :D  Then went on to say he wants to stay at the club and basically doesnt know what all the fuss is about, he's gonna have talks when the yanks get over here.  Love that man  :-* :-*

Oh yeah, and good result for the Reds  :D :D :D  Well in Besiktas  ;)

I have to say that Crouch is a super-sub.

He turns games when he comes on and the oppo defence is shagged.

      Voro was quite good tonight.

Yossi was poor. SG at times was poor. Babel at times crap.

My rankings for tonight would be

Reina - 6/10 should have saved their goal (or come out to punch)

Finnan - 6/10 dithered too much, too many times
Carra - 8/10 solid, same old same old
Hyypia - 8/10 solid, very realiable
Arbeloa - 6/10 unsually avearage game

Yossi - 5/10 poor, needs to get back in the groove
Masch - 8/10 ran his heart out all night long
Gerrard - 7/10 average, good pen finish.
Babel - 7/10 you just don't know what he is going to do next (good or bad!)

Voro - 7/10 good covering, touch needs improving
Torres - 9/10 MoM - clinical finishing (yes, clinical)

      Subs
Kewell - 7/10 good impact, great touch to serve-up Torres for 2nd
      Crouch - 8/10 excellent impact
      Kuyt - 6/10 didn't really see him

Good game, but some mistakes, benayoun, mascherano and voronin did not justify being recalled.

      Anyone else think so.

Also credit to Kewell for constantly showing the willingness and determination to succee

There was an unsettled period where mistakes were made and passing went to pieces or good moves ended up going nowhere which was very frustrating although on another day they would of come off. When crouch and Harry came on the team got hold of the ball again leading to Torres 2nd goal (great finish). Still, all in all an emphatic win on this most important day.

Top man Rafa, first mention to the fans.

My thoughts exactly, I'm very proud :) Straight to watch it after the march (couldn't get me ticket) which went amazing by the way! Rafa is a F***ing legend, no doubt about it, and his reaction has calmed down all this speculation. There's not as much to worry about as the papers would have us believe!

Good game, but some mistakes, benayoun, mascherano and voronin did not justify being recalled.

Do you jest? Mascherano was immense tonight! Him orTorres for man of the match! I thought Finnan played well though!

You know what I've only had a couple of beers tonight. Stop trying to make me drink more!!

I'm pissed out of my head! 8) Drank quite a lot tonight, with the nerves!

nearly went 2 1 down when they missed a sitter , that would have taken some come back or what ...

Eddie, just think the value for taste/money that vodka & fanta gives you ...when you will taste it again in about 4 hours going back out in the opposite direction!

Now that's taste for your buck...

I think Mascherano played well, tracked the ball well and was all over the pitch! Some of the tackles made tonight were enough to justify Hicks and Gillet getting the cheque book out now to secure his services for a few more years!

I'm really sick of sky, we 'scrape' a
      4-1 whilst Chelsea 'cruise' to a 4-0.

      Wankers.

Sky were pissing me off all night but the comments on RTE were even worse after the game. I promised myself I woudn't bother listening to them anymore but I just flicked over and the usual suspects (Dunphy, Brady, Giles) were absolutely slating us. Dunphy, in particular launched into a tirade against Rafa's signings which was something along the lines of " Babel, bad buy, Voronin, bad buy, Kewell, just turns up for the final and Benayoun is only a West Ham player". Now I may be wrong but I never seem to hear these idiots launch into such critisism after Arsenal, Man Utd or Chelsea play in the European Cup, particularly after a 4-1 win.

Babel - 7/10 you just don't know what he is going to do next (good or bad!)

Come on Don! You can't say Babel was crap and then give him 7/10.

How many saves did Pepe have to make tonight?

Andy Gray says the final scoreline is a travesty... what a C U N T.

We were our worst own enemy tonight - we need some mental coaching to deal with the expectation pressure - I mean that... the lads are so full of talent - we will walk over most teams this season.

No team dominates for a full 90 mins, we had a bad 10 mins and they scored and create another chance we finished the half alright.  Then for the first 15-20 mins both teams were a bit edgy it happens then we started to get stronger and stronger, we were fitter and they seem to me a little tired as they got to the finishing line.   Porto is a good team and we can't be expected to play them off the park for 90 mins.  Yes, we got under a little pressure but thats normal when suddenly a team turns it on, and remember it was a must win game for us and qualification was at stake so there was always going to be a lot of pressure on us, they always had two bites at the cherry.
