      Well done JD.
Zoe,s place is very close to my heart, my wife and I have done a lot of work for them over the years, a friend of ours used to do gigs for them,( but he is not a well man now) and I used to do the disco, we had some great nights, it was all about fun, and raising a few bob, and even if I say so myself we did a good job.

So I have been thinking ( now thats hard for me ;D ) what about doing a night for Zoe,s place, I can get a other friend of mine to do the disco, if you like 60,s 70,s and 80,s music you will love are disco, as we are a pair of nutters on stage.

I'm sure we can get a hall for free, some where in Liverpool
      Disco would be free.
Tickets would cost nothing if someone printed them up on there pc.
I have a friend who sells Liverpool stuff, I'm sure he would help us with 1 or 2 things to sell of on the night.
Tickets to sell, let say £5 of if you want food as well about £7, but these can be talk about.

But what I do need is help from you all to get this off the ground, and some of you to help in the running of it.
Could not be done before Christmas, but could be done early next year.
I am more than willing to give some of my time up for Zoe,s place.
I'm sure we can raise a good few bob, and have a great time as well.

Would love to hear your thoughts.

You all have a good day. ;)

      Thank you Smigger15.
It is you moderators and administrator who can get this of the ground, ( or kill it ).
I take it you all talk to each other ;D

maybe it needs a new topic, to let the masses know.

You all have lots and lots of fun  ::)

No, not dead in the water at all. Any thoughts where you'd like to have it? Any thoughts on a rough date? Can look into booking somewhere then.

I'm sure I could ask in our pub, although a hall would be much better! Much bigger, get a lot more of us in there!

Depends on how many we got interested that want to attend, get an idea on some numbers first then we can book it, nothing worse than a huge room with half a dozen people in it !!  ;) :D

Smiggs ears pricked up there I see :lmao:

Been having a chat with Graham about this, haven't we Graham :)
Thought we might leave things till after Christmas is over and concentrate on it fully in the New Year. :)

Yeah, your right Smiggs, when we get a date we need to see how much interest we get, hopefully some of the people who live away might be able to come to this, if everyone knows well in advance.
Sounds good though, need as many people as possible to make this happen.

Obviously it's going to have to be next year. But we need to start spreading the word about it sooner rather than later if we want a good few people going. As Smiggs said, nothing worse than a big room with not many people in. And the main reason is to raise money, so more bums on seats.

So, a rough date anyone? End of season?

Hi all. looks like this is starting to take off.

As Ms G says, lets great Christmas and new year out of the way, and then take it to the masses.

      A few things we do need to get sorted;

1- A date for the charity night, how about the Friday the 6th June 2008.

2- I think it has to be a hall with bar, that will hold about 200 to 300 people.

3- how much will the tickets be, I was thinking of about £5, what do you think.

4- Who will hold the money, and how do the people pay for tickets. So we need someone who is honest and upstanding. JD comes to mind, what do you think.

5- Someone to print the tickets, and Zoe,s place have to be told what we are doing.

All these 5 things have to be in place before we start telling people about the night.

If anybody knows of a hall please let us know, I have 1 or 2 in mind, will let you know, then we can talk about it.
I will see my mate about the disco.

I have a good feeling about this, not only will we raise a good few bob for Zoe,s place, we all will have a great night out as well.

      Have a good day  :)

Hiya Graham, that all sounds fine, but I think Saturday night would be better.  The only reason I say that is some people have to work on Saturdays, and if there are any people travelling any distance then they wouldnt have to take time off work etc.  ;)

      Thank you smigger;
I only said Friday, because it hard to get a hall for free on a saturday, but if we can find one for free, then saturday the 7th June is good for me.
       have fun  :)

Hopefully, some places will let you have the hall for free if they make so much on the bar......?

Doubt that would be a problem.  ;)
