It will be if the price is way too much

Well no, cos they cant force someone into something they dont want. If they did try that he could just sit tight and run his contract down.

If it’s true that the price is getting towards £150mil then I would hope the club walk away and use that level of money on bringing in 3 quality players

Bellingham is a quality player but the squad would be better improved with 3 players at the cost of one

Christ I agree with you 100% I must be losing the plot.  ;D

If the player wants LFC, the bidding war is irrelevant.

Better not tell FSG that Brez.  ;D

Depends really what the 3 players are. I'd rather buy 1 that will transform the team than 3 players who will continue the status quo.

The likes of Mount and the lad from Wolves wouldn't transform our fortunes in my opinion. But then I'm not sure Bellingham would turn us in to title contenders either.

Wouldn’t matter if Bellingham was the best midfielder in the history of football, he can’t do it all by himself. PJ is right, I’d also try and buy 2/3 players with £150 million to spend.

Not long ago, you were confident that we were both signing Gvardiol and Bellingham and I told you it's not happening. Funny how people who are called plastic, doomers are proven every single time.

Mount is so average and if Chelsea can't even offer him the wages he wants then what makes you think we would offer him ? Funny Mount might move to United before us.

Reckon he will be about £120 m which is a lot will all.come down to number of players needed. If it was just we needed we should be all over it but with two min needed might be a struggle unless he can get another on the cheap due to contract expiry etc

Looks like it’s going to be more than £120m - creeping closer ti £150mil

But I will be amazed if Madrid pay that

Really not fused on missing out on Jude, not that I ever thought we'd get him.

Use the money to bring in 2 top midfielders + 1 prospect we can develop.

      Barella (Inter) - 60m
      Palacios (Leverkusen) - 40m
      Baturina (Zagreb) - 20m

Has all the hallmarks of another Tchouameni, Klopps preferred target, either he chose to go elsewhere or there was no value in the market etc.

The important thing this time is that those who make the calls have a number 2 and number 3 alternative this time rather than another Arthur Melo.

FWIW Ornstein is a sh*t-stirrer and I can't remember the last time he was actually the first to report something that actually happened.

That said, this sort of news doesn't surprise me. Outside of being one of the richest clubs in the world, we are apparently always broke. ;D

Some people are upset because they feel that we've back burnered other business in hopes of landing Bellingham this summer and if we really never intended to be a serious suitor...then why haven't we been addressing our midfield the prior two windows?

As Tom Petty famously said....the waiting is the hardest part.

I stopped looking at Bellingham news. We have been and will continue to be told something and then its opposite a week later until this player finally transfers somewhere. It's too good of a clicks generator for all those ''transfer gurus'' and the accounts that make a living off of retweeting those transfer gurus.

Since the start of the season or so, I can't remember a week where we haven't got Bellingham news and I can't remember a single week where it wasn't absolutely useless info and not the exact opposite of what was said the week before about the transfer.

I'm not saying we're going to get him, but I think people need to give it a rest. I won't even open twitter because the meltdown over there must be of gargantuan proportions

Edit: I will say however that the club needs to try and get him. They have been part of what I described above with lots of the journos that get there info directly from the club saying many times that we are putting stuff on hold for Bellingham. If this all turns out to have been a waste of everyone's time and we just back away from it because, surprise, it's gonna cost a lot of money then they will face a sh*t storm and a deserved one at that.
