He's obviously a talent, he may go on to be a  great player.....but he doesn't play for us, or given any indication that he will ever play for us, and for those reasons I don't understand the level of interest in him on this forum.

Hard to judge when I don't watch much of the Bundesliga. So just been going on the England games.

He's top drawer already, and going to get better. He's also exactly the kind of player we need, high energy box to box CM, with plenty of creativity thrown in. Plus he's got a good head on his shoulders. Plus he's a fan. I don't usually go for the "spend whatever it takes" line, but I think we should really push the boat out to get him, he's a perfect fit for us. (I think we've got a good chance of getting him as well.)

Plus he and Henderson offer a lot of balance in midfield.

That's the big question mate. I maybe optimistically think we will.

I also think he would be keen on joining us as it is a good fit all things considered -- Liverpool supporter, Gerrard fan, suits the team and the way we play, best manager for his development. He would have to be some right bad mercenary to join PSG. As far as our transfer business is concerned it could be a Van Dijk or Ali moment but for the midfield. For some players it's worth paying what seems over the odds as the overall impact is so significant.

I very much doubt you are privy to whatever reason(s) they had for going there. Money being the obvious one, but unlikely to be the only reason. Guaranteed playing in the Champions league every season perhaps another, and having had the privilege of living and working in Paris, I can say it's a truly great City.
