He missed about eight chances before he took his one. That's the problem with him now, he needs a large amount of chances before he finally scores and that's not a top level striker. We'll be in games where that one chance is all we'll get and if he misses it we draw/lose.

The problem is he can't be dropped because they left us with no other alternative. Hence Ox was a CF today. Typical FSG. They done it last year and they've done it again.

Young lad breaks his leg and you start going on about the owners - something not right with you

I heard he'll never be able to kick a ball again, and the club is on its way to terminate his contact. I heard it in me head and I made that up. How's me crystal ball gazing? Can't believe people are saying things they know very little or nothing about. How's that for an opinion based on unverified facts.

Name me one elite player that broke his ankle and tore his ligaments and came back elite! Never happened. Look just at Ox - and the dude didn't even break his ankle and still he does not look as if he belongs into top 4 PL-teams anymore. Also watch videos with MD's on youtube, there are all like "at least career alterning" which is chiffre for "he won't hold his level". And of course my whopping 14 years experience as a NFL fan where such drama happens more often and guess what: broken ankle and tore ligament = retirement (and yes, Alex Smith came back with something similiar, but just to prove a point and then retired). Harvey might come back and be able to play in the Championship or even for low PL teams, but never for elite teams.

It's not that I do not wish Harvey the best and maybe the super slim chance comes true that he broke it but not tore some ligament or whatever but I am not that sissy to deny the facts and roll into false hope.

Nah, it happens more often than you think. But usually people are more aware after 10 missed chances then we he makes every second into a goal. Strikers live on probability and statistic and dry periods are normal. Good/top strikers differ themselves from lower class strikers thru 1. speed, 2. ball-handling, 3. assist-ability, 4. creating high percentage chances out of undangerous situations. Not thru sheer goals!!! ManĂŠ is still top.

Well first he hasn’t broken his ankle

Secondly the affect on his ligaments is unknown at the moment

Agree. Shots to goal ratio should be 100% or higher. Otherwise you’re not elite. We need to find a player who can deliver 200% goals to the number of shots he takes. All front three.

First, define elite. We can discuss the rest after that. I just heard again that elite players are never injured. I’m not too sure where I heard that from. I made that up as well.

elite = being able to play for a top 4 PL team as a starter. Let's go with that. And yes, we do not know nothing yet, but any expert basically tells you that it's safe he broke the ankle and highly probable he tore ligaments. But of course nothing official.

I'm fairly sure for the ankle to dislocate it requires the ligaments to snap and that first bone in your foot to break away from the two leg bones, otherwise it wouldn't dislocate.  Either way, horrible injury.  I'd imagine a clean break of both your leg bones would be preferable to this kind of injury.

Lad does have age on his side though and is obviously going to get far far better surgical treatment than us plebs would.

Yea it's going to be a lengthy layoff. As you say a clean break would be a 'better' injury for want if a more suitable word

I understand your point but I think people just don't want to hear it. It's sad enough what happened yesterday. Let's just leave it to the official statement to tell us what's wrong and how long.

I can't comment much about the team performance, only to wish  Elliott a full and speedy recovery from that bad injury, it was awful!
Wasteful front players, however, Fabinho and Thiago were outstanding players, along with  Elliott until his injury, he will be a big loss to us.

Exactly, young man too. Probably going to a specialist orthopedic surgeon, going to have state of the art physical therapy to strengthen back up. Look at VVD, in “my opinion “ a worse injury “the ACL” and VVD is looking good.
In conclusion, I think Harvey will be fine. Again, the key is not rushing back from a injury (Michael Owen comes to mind)

Serious. I know it's not exactly the same but Dak Prescott, QB for the Dallas Cowboys suffered an even worse injury last season in a game. Dislocated and compound fracture of the ankle. He rehabbed for a year, played this past weekend and looked as good or better than ever. Harvey can certainly come back to be just as good as he was before, it's just going to take patience for the recovery and rehab process.

Isn't it great we have so many medical experts on here.

Anyway some actual medical experts think Harvey will be back playing in 6 to 9 months and should make a full recovery.

I'll be optimistic I think we will see Harvey play for us again this season.

Best wishes Harvey hope you make a speedy and full recovery. Some great performances yesterday Fab, Thiago,  Salah and Mom for me was Matip, I thought Mane had another poor performance, never seemed to control the ball, passes were to strong or weak poor finishing and he was in an offside position on our first goal luckily Salah hit the before the ball came to Mane and the second goal he was offside again but luckily he moved out of the direction of the were Fab hit the ball, hope he picks up his finishing soon

What the actual F**k are you on about, I take it your a expert in this field, no one knows for sure the extent of the damage Harvey may have sustained, he may yet have surgery and if he does no one can say how long his recovery period will be, if you haven’t got anything of note to say don’t say anything, be honest with yourself and  admit you don’t actually know anything about it instead of just spouting any old sh*te.

Unbelievable Jeff, the amount of sh*te in here !!

Obviously the injury has put a real dampener on what was an excellent performance. I really think we will miss Harvey because he has made an excellent start (and we haven't gone out and got anyone else in) but you have to think it's time for either of Keita, Jones or Ox to step in and grab the shirt.

So many positives from yesterday's performance.

      - Salah is in fantastic form, i thought his touch and awareness were sublime. Gave him motm for an excellent display.

      - Mane (despite his pain in front of goal) looks really sharp, he looks quick, his touch is back to somewhere near it's best and his movement yesterday was superb.

      - VVD and Matip are playing superbly, like they have never been away.

      - Fabinho's performance was awesome, he was everywhere yesterday. Rightly gets the motm but i just thought Mo was excellent.
