Atletico and Porto in what I’m sure is a riveting 0-0 draw in the 90th minute.

sh*t ref I that game robbed Porto of a victory

Thought we made hard work of that after a blistering start. Could have been game over after 15 mins.
      Deserved win though.
Thought some of the subs strange but hey ho.
Glad the away goals thing has been binned.
      Fabinho my motm. Solid. !

0 0 in the other game. its gonna be tight this

Milan home to Atletico while were in Porto. A win for us and a draw in Milan would open up a bit of breathing space

Can't believe Salah actually missed the penalty. Hopefully will be the last he misses, 17 scored on the bounce was some going.

We should've known then that the game would take some twists.

Amazing collective performance, Anfield with crowd is a different story. But it’s the second game in a row that we create a lot but don’t score enough. Need to be more efficient in front of the goal to kill the game. Anyway, another incredible European night.

Went for Salah MOTM. Looked dangerous throughout.

Fair play to Origi as that assist for the goal was a nice but if football and he actually played quite well.

A perfect advertisement for why Fabinho is the best DM in the world. His tackles and presence to stop counterattacks was THE critical factor in our dominance in this game.

Thought we played superb going forward, switched off a bit, but that's the difference without virg, the mentally to come back though was vintage us. Proud of the lads

Maybe I saw a different game, but didn't think it was Fabs best. I actually thought he switched off for both of their goals, even though he is one of the best DMs in the world.

Mo, Trent, Robbo, Divock, Matip and Jo played well. Hendo's goal was really important, but he was way off his best imho. Naby is a complete conundrum. He's a completely different player for Leipzig and/or Guinea, didn't get involved at all.  Three points is all that matters, and we got to rest some players. Roll on Palace.

On holiday in Greece, spent the match talking about footy with a Lyon supporter via Google images. Neither of us could speak a word of English, but I showed him a few Houllier photos and now he loves the reds.

Belter game! Half gutted I weren't there- atmosphere sounded boss through the telly!

What a fantastic game of football, Milan to be fair  to them took their chances when we got lacklustre, but for ten minutes of that game we were by far the better side, but again credit to Milan for holding on in what was to them the Alamo, right from the Ref’s first toot we were at them squeezing, pressing and almost almost battered them into submission,

I said earlier that our pressing  game will improve the older the season gets, and tonight showed that exactly, we will take some beating we will, I doubt there’s another side in Europe who can press like we can,

We just need to be more clinical and those missed chances will become less as time moves on, on another night we could have been 4/5 up at HT,  we battered Milan for 30 mins took our foot off and let them in,

Personally I couldn’t fault  any of our boys everyone to a man played well, my MoM was Fabinho, to me he is without doubt the best DM on the planet, he is just simply immense, Matip was brilliant again and Gomez was excellent considering his first outing this season, Robbo & Trent were fantastic and Salah again showed why he is the one of the best forwards in the world, Jota was excellent and Divock played well, that pass for Salah was world class, and he for me proved that there is room at the inn for him in a Klopp side, Henderson skippered the lads with typical gusto and his strike was Gerrard-esq, Ox, Jones , Milner & Thiago did what they had to do and helped close the game out ,

Three points at home is pivotal and we done that, I was mightily impressed tonight despite being without Virgil,Bobby, Mane,Thiago at the start and of course wee Harvey,  I predicted a 3-0 win and but for our ‘taking the foot off’ that would have worked out nicely.

Good win good start, now let’s keep it going, got a good feeling about us this season.

Probably caused himself a bald spot.

I'm still wondering what it means to take the game by the scruff of the game. That must be some trick.

Actually beginning this season they won't matter in the knockout rounds, either.

I think it was the right call to scrap that one. It's main impact was to keep home teams from attacking with full vigor.

I hope we see Fab., Hendo and Thiago starting in midfield this weekend. With Harvey out I think this is our best choice.

Keita definitely needs rest to not take any chances. I'd also like Kostas for Robbo.

Crazy, but very entertaining game of football!  For all the ctiricism I've read on this thread, (reactionary in-match views!) apart from 5-10 mins in the first half where we lost intensty & concentration, we were outstanding in all aspects apart from delivering the killer blow.

Showed great character 2nd half as heads could have dropped from the 2 sucker punches from the only 2 efforts on goal they had, compared to our 100 shots (near enough!) on goal in the 1st half.

Got the win we deserved (and had to get) albeit not by the margin it should have been.

We've created so many chances the past 2 matches we could have scored 7 easily both times  Keep playing like we have and we'll give someone a right tonking soon!

Here's hoping it's Palace on Saturday as I'm in the Anny Road end for the first time in donkeys years.

The unbeaten run continues, while resting a few key players so all is well with the world.

I was about to say nope to this. but you may be right, cos next midweek game is the cup, which will have a lot of changes. So Klopp can go strong again v palace.
