Top 10 All Time Goalscorers - Salah On The Brink
      Sep 18, 2021 01:27:34 pm
So the Egyptian King is now 11th on the all-time list. Had he scored his penalty against Milan, he'd be equal with the great Sam Raybould on 130 Liverpool goals but instead he had to settle with going past another of our early heroes in Jack Parkinson.

And the remarkable thing about it all, is it seems like he's only been here for five minutes. The names before him are etched in Liverpool's history and are all worthy of being put in any all-time Liverpool XI. Mo Salah is undoubtedly in that conversation now.

A simply amazing feat from our simply amazing number 11. Well done Mo!

      Rush - 346
      Hunt - 285
      Hodgson - 241
      Liddell - 228
      Gerrard - 186
      Fowler - 183
      Dalglish - 172
      Owen - 158
      Chambers - 151
      Raybould - 130

Incredible player who we have to enjoy whilst he’s in his peak.

I absolutely love Mo but i can't see any striker ever beating Rush. If he stays for another five years then i think he will beat Hunt.

Brilliant thread though. I always wonder where Torres and Suarez could have ended up in the list if they had stayed loyal.

Torres wouldn’t have been much higher IMO. I think people tend to forget that whilst his career on an individual level really went downhill after leaving us, his decline had most definitely started in the final season he was with us, the injuries he was getting in 09/10 really took their toll on him.

Suarez however, think he’d have been in and around where Salah is on goals had he stayed.

But regarding Mo, if we were lucky enough to keep him for another 4 or 5 years, then he could really chip away at the top 10. He won’t get anywhere near Rush though, Hunt would be a real push but think catching Hodgson would be realistic.

Mo Salah now has 150 goals for Liverpool and is just eight goals behind our eighth top goalscorer, a certain Michael Owen. (he's still one behind the great Harry Chambers as well).

I just don’t see where he could go? Sure Barca would be fun and Real Madrid could work - but it’s not a guarantee that it will be a success. If he stays here then he gets immortalised for the ages.

If he signs a new deal here I'd put good money on him ending up as our 2nd or 3rd all time highest scorer. Almost a certainty he'll be #8 by the time the season is done.

Wonder if Jota will find himself anywhere on that list in a decade or so time. At the minute he's the exact same age as Salah was when he first joined, but has a 30 goal head start.

And what a way to bring up Number 150

Sensational kick out by Ali, first time take from Mo, a simple back heel to f**k 4 Norwich players out of the equation, then a beautifully placed right foot into an open net.

      definately.

He may even be eyeing up King kennys.

Another 22 goals this season, could it be done from 11 league games and champions league and cup games?

Reminiscent of the Untied Goal when Ali ran the length of the pitch to celebrate with Mo. This time Ali was getting mobbed by all the Defenders.

Surpassing Rush is a hard one, needs another 5 seasons scoring 40 a season to pass rushie.

He's now ninth on the list.

Wherever he ends up on the list, being in the top ten is remarkable in itself. But it's almost impossible to not see him surpassing Owen this year, which would leave him directly behind our arguably greatest ever player in Dalglish, my all-time favourite player in Fowler and the greatest player I've seen in a Liverpool shirt in Gerrard. What a f**king trio of names to be surrounded by.

      Then it's the 200 club...possibly.

And those names include a certain generations choice as our greatest ever player in Billy Liddell, another generations greatest ever forward in Gordon Hodgson, another generations greatest ever forward in Sir Roger Hunt and then our greatest ever goalscorer in Ian Rush. What a f**king quartet of names to be, potentially, surrounded by.

Honestly, words can't sum up how good Mo Salah is. To be on this list proves you're a f**king great goalscorer. Just incredible.

      Egyptian King!!!

I reckon he passes Rushie at The Club, to become our Greatest ever goalscorer.

There is no doubt in my mind that Mo actually looks at all these Records and wants to beat everyone of them.

The Man is already, in my mind a Liverpool Legend but I'm sure he will want to make sure everyone feels the same way, by the end of his career.

His penalty yesterday took him to 157, just one behind Owen in eighth place.

Think getting into the 200 club and above is a realistic target. But more importantly to help us win possibly another 2 league titles and maybe 1 or 2 more Champions league.

All great players on that list,he could even get close to 200 this season, with the ammount of games we play, cant see anyone beating Rushie's record in my lifetime.

43 goals in all comps would be amazing.

Tall order but can be done, i remember Rushie got nigh on 50 goals in a season all comps, and he is in great shape, and rarely gets injured.

Salah has proven he can do it, he got 44 on his first season with the club.

If his form didn’t nosedive after his return from AFCON, he’d have at least matched that total last season IMO.

Defo can be done. And of all seasons this could be perfect with him not going to the world cup, he will have a nice holiday at xmas.

Come back fitta than eva, unlike last year when he was drained after afcon.
