Curtis Jones is named in the starting line-up for Liverpool for this evening’s fixture with Brentford.

The midfielder gets the nod to join Fabinho and Jordan Henderson in the centre for the Reds, with Thiago Alcantara and Naby Keita ruled out.

Elsewhere, Roberto Firmino is named among the substitutes after recovering from injury, while Joel Matip is back in defence having been rested for the last two matches.

Strongest possible team, good decision by Klopp.

We have Firmino, Origi and Minamino if we need them.

Certainly has, needs to do the simple things quickly. He sometimes tries too hard and overdoes it, then loses possession. Just needs to keep a calm head !

Good starting 11 and a decent bench. Glad Jürgen hasn’t rotated too much and underestimated these.
They will go at this 100%. We need to press and counter with a vengeance, they wouldn’t have experienced anything like us and the gengen press.
And I’ve predicted 0:4 as well 😂

Brentford are a high-energy side and will look to press hard at times, especially if they can get the crowd behind them. We'll need to get on the ball and dictate play to silence the crowd, and then turn the screws during periods of play where we pin them in a little bit. Then it's just about finding a bit of quality which Jones is well capable of doing.

I actually like what they're doing at Brentford, so I hope they'll stay up. But I also hope we'll trash them today!

Well I use a stream which usually gets a great reception bar a few minor glitches. Only trouble is, it’s also about a minute behind real time, so following on here spoils it a bit. I see goals on here before they happen for me 😱 so I’m gonna get off now and catch up later.

Strong lineup as expected since other than Jones none played midweek against Norwich.

Even with Eliott, Keita and Thiago out that is still a very strong bench.

I gotta say, I’m loving this new yellow strip and training gear.

I think this will be tough at times, but I think we’ll put in a professional performance and win 2 or 3 nil. Hopefully Brentford come at us so we can get them on the break.
