FC Porto 1-5 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Sep 28, 2021 06:45:34 pm

Estádio do Dragão is hosting 6 times UCL Winners

Starting XI: Alisson, Milner, Matip, Van Dijk, Robertson, Fabinho, Henderson, Jones, Mane, Salah, Jota.

Subs: Adrian, Kelleher, Konate, Keita, Firmino, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Tsimikas, Origi, Phillips, Williams.

One change for LFC. Trent Alexander-Arnold is ruled out due to a sore groin, so James Milner comes into the XI.

Naby Keita is back and on the bench.

"Roger Hunt comes second to no-one in his importance in the history of Liverpool FC, that much is clear."

Jürgen Klopp has paid tribute to the legendary Sir Roger Hunt.

Wow that's a much stronger lineup than I was expecting. Basically full strength. Klopp must want to try to kill this group off early to enable mass rotation in the last couple of games.

Bit surprised to see the same team [apart from injured TAA] from Sat, given probably all of them will have to play again vs Citeh on the weekend. No Keita or Bob in starting XI, thought they might get a runout.
Strong team, I guess Jürgen not taking any chances.
Milly at the back shouldn't weaken us defensively.
In midfield, can see Hendo and Fab playing a lot games.
Jota will prob want to do well on home soil.
Looking forward to it, enjoy the old CL nights :)

Keita, Firmino, and Trent probably come into the side against City. It's a Tuesday-Sunday changeover which clearly factors into Klopp's thinking. That should be enough time for the team to recover for Sunday's late kickoff.

We've lost some big ones over the past year or so. So sad to hear this. Sir Roger - to be a legend for club and Country is such a rarity. He was a rarity. A legend! Rest in peace Roger.

I totally disagree with your statement.
Milner was super, full of energy and good passes.

      Only if Trent recovers.
Can Millie put in another stelar performance ?
I hope so. That’s a strong starting 11, but eell impressed with the bench as well.
      1-2 the red men.

TAA is injured so that's why he's not starting. The other two, we'll see if they start vs Citeh. Would be a big call to bring Bob in for that one ahead of Jota, given how little he's played. That#s why thought he might make this one. And we'll have to wait an see if Keita stays fit between now and then.

Think we all expected there to be changes, especially regarding the likes of Origi but obviously Trent aside, maybe it’s a case of the same line up and correct your performance from the Brentford game kind of thing.

Good to see though, as I said yesterday, I felt as though they’d been too much rotation within the defence.

The option for 5 subs tonight, I’d be surprised if all 5 weren’t used.

Yep would of thought plenty of subs used and that go out and prove Dynamic after Saturday

No surprises for me except perhaps Curtis in rather than Naby, but Naby is just getting back so I suppose it makes sense,
Jürgen not F***ing about, he wants qualification done and dusted asap, then he can fully concentrate on the title assault,

We won’t lose tonight that I am confident of, a draw is acceptable but I believe we will win, and that is exactly what Jürgen wants and exactly what we should be aiming for, we are Liverpool, we are European Royalty, I wouldn’t expect anything else, playing for a draw away from home is for losers.

Get on that pitch and show your PSG’s, your Man shitty’s , Your Bayern Munchen’s and anyone else who think we are a spent force, that we are in this to win it and we will take some beating,

      C’mon Redmen

I’ve gone for 1-2 in the predictions. Went to change it to 0-3 but was too late.
Now do I want 1-2 for a perfect and 7 points, or 0-3 for a potential £250k in the super 6 where I was able to change it 🤔

Was superb against Palace the other week. My only issue is with him being 36/37 and playing in Europe midweek and then in one of our biggest domestic games a few weeks later.

Probably wishful thinking on my behalf but I'm hoping that Trent will actually be okay for City and Jürgen is trying to pull a fast one on them in saying he'll probably be out, meaning that City set up differently and take less precautions to counter the threat down the right hand side during their preparations this week.

As I said though, wishful thinking and I'm probably clutching at straws.
