Bet your bottom dollar Jose comes in!!!

That would be 100% on brand for him...

Right now, they shouldn't go for a manager that will win trophies. They need someone that can build a team and the infrastructure around it from the ground up. And that manager should also have some pull to attract decent players.

You might laugh, but I think Wenger would be a perfect fit for them.

Surprised at the use of Whataboutery, Shabs,
but I do get the "why do we draw the line here and not at Standard Chartered etc?".

I suppose the uncomfortablness is because with certain owners the atrocities are out in open and well known.
We are looking at three clubs owned by Authoritarian States (directly or by way of faceless fund group) who are using the clubs as
a way of sport washing their regimes.

      And it's working.

Pep's going to Newcastle! They have more money!!  :lmao: :lmao:

Actually, Jose would be a shrewd signing for them. With a shitload of money, he'd probably put together a pretty formidable side and I think the Newcastle support would rally behind him like they did with Rafa.

I don't think it will happen though.

Already turned them down for now, they stay in the league get Europe within two seasons, he'll end up there summoning the ghost of his former mentor!

Already mentioned Bobby Robson in one interview, so it's a nap he'll end up there at some point.

Whilst some are upset of the Human Rights of Saudi regime bankrolling Newcastle & calling them out over the killing of Jamal Kashoggi, I’ve noticed they are silent when it comes to money invested in Arms trade and the illegal wars they fund…

Also… can we free Julian Assange..? Locked up for exposing Western  War Crimes…

Nope I think it's more the board asking for awareness of the owners.

I reckon they'll do their darndest to get Sterling in. It would be their Robinho type signing (of course Raheem is a million times the player of Robinho).

On a managerial front, Eddie Howe's been mentioned a lot. If I were a Newcastle fan that'd be a bit of an anti climax.

My uneducated guess is they want someone to stop the bleeding and keep them in the PL, then clean house over the summer.

they do have a model in City and how they progressed over the last decade or so. They will sadly be a major force and in doing so no doubt drag other clubs along is the spending frenzy to come. Rafa is still a favourite by all accounts so a good thrashing by Wolves tonight could make him available

Looking like Unai Emery the man to lead Newcastle to the next level. Pretty good manager and I think he will keep them in the Premier league, well! Least I hope so or will cost me a small fortune if he doesn't  :f_wah:

Won’t happen. When City got Robinho it was in the summer, a blank canvas and they’d already been spending money before that takeover so there was a slight basis there in terms of gradually improving from the Shinawatra days…or whatever his name was. No top player will drop down to Newcastle when there’s every chance they will be all but relegated come the January transfer window.

Eddie Howe agrees a deal in principle to become Newcastle manager. He must be off his head, they’ll eat him alive!

To be fair, it kind of makes sense. No matter how much they were hoping for it, they were always going to struggle to find a world class manager willing to take on the challenge, so they just had to settle for someone with potential. Similar to what we did with Rodgers (although in our case, it wasn't because of a lack of attractiveness).

I'm not sure he's the right man for the job though. They do need to build everything from the ground up, so someone with more experience might have been better. Oh well, I hope their project fails anyway, so it's all good.

Ha imagine thinking they were going to get a world class manager but then ending up with Howe. Charlie Daniels and Simon Francis will be made up, back to the Premier League for them
