read a report from CNN saying 6500 possibly more have died during the building of the World Cup stadiums etc. Was this really the price FIFA thought was ok to live with.

Goodness me, that's absolutely shocking and terribly sad too  :(

Slight tangent but it was decided that we would have an office wide world cup sweepstake ( as well as a team one) where each department would get a team with prizes etc. We got Croatia and the suggestion was that we could decorate out part of the office with flags etc. Only that was the plan, the powers above have decreed this shouldn't take place because of the Qatari records on human rights

Southgate's comments about Qatar workers are an embarrassment. Moreso for a manager who's one success in his career is writing a famed letter about inclusiveness, tolerance and understanding and all that during last year's Euros. Not when it comes to Qatar workers though eh Gareth?? Quite happy to appropriate social justice movements at home but when it comes to brutal deaths of thousands of workers in Qatar, it's fine to throw out the party line.

He's one dense moron that guy

Shout out to England band leader John Hemmingham who has, along with his band mates, accepted money to spew pro Qatari messages on social media and in the stadia, as well as report any dissenting voices to the authorities.

I thought nothing could top the inhumanity and wretched nature of their tune playing and all round horrific presence at England matches but I think they might just have outdone even that on this one.

Everyone knows this World Cup was secured with massive clandestine payments made to a variety of people...Football people, Advertising people, Politicians...NGO's...I suspect even registered charities etc. etc. It was obvious from the beginning that wholesale fraud was underway. Any number of journalists who tried to highlight the issue were drowned out by the sheer scale and weight of the various corrupt authorities. Money talks, always did, always will.
These shady transactions are common among the so called elites, and are generally tolerated as victimless crimes. Living in their gilded mansions, few, if any, consider the families of those workers who lost their lives.

Qatar are getting and giving you tube influencers and the likes of the beauts above tickets to kiss Qatar's arse during the competition.

All a bit 90s now that England band ain't they?

Media coverage for major sporting event now follow this pattern but once the games start all this stuff unfortunately gets pushed aside. Maybe this time it will be different but unfortunately I wouldn't hold my breath on it

Can you imagine the media noise if England win a game.
Having complained forever England cant win a world cup because by the summer all the players are knackered it is now barely a third into the season so tiredness not an excuse this time. Its going to be an awful 6 weeks having to listen to all the crap ....

That's a sh*t looking team to be honest.

How does Maguire make it in the team? Phillips? Dier? Wow.

Interesting looking at the squads a lot among the top nations doesn't seem to be stand out squad, each side seems to have a question mark or two.

When Slabhead cocks up yet again I hope someone reminds Southgate he cant get in the UTD team as Captain because he is a liability.

Hope we get knocked out early.

What a sh*t team… again picked on favouritism. Where the F**k is Tomori in that defence, younger and faster than any of those CB and actually decent… F**k me even Smalling at Roma is is better than at least three of them…. Let’s not mention players like Ward-Prowse etc…

I mean Maguire!? Even putting aside the Man Utd dislike the guy isn’t a footballer, and even Man Utd have finally figured that out… hopefully he chins someone over there and gets locked up for good.
