Another quiet,  uneventful night for the reds in Europe

       ;D

Once in a while a boring threat free 1-0 win would be nice and much better for my heart.

If your GK is man of the match it means some serious sh*t is going on in front of him.

Simeone was making himself look an idiot with all the cheerleader crap for 90mins and then went running off like a child because he lost.

Game was crying out for Thiago to be honest, we really lacked someone in midfield taking control of the tempo, hopefully he will be back for the next game.

Strange game, excellent for 20 minutes but pretty average for the rest

      Spot on.

      MASSIVE win :)
Bit lucky, thought that was a peno for them, Jota very silly. And when playing such a high line at set pieces, you end up backpeddling if can't catch them offside. Don't see the point of it. Just setup to defend deeper and don't let them in behind.
The red card - players play the ball high all the time, but only really dangerous when someone's head gets in the way - letter of law, red though - still, after that they held their own, Bob was up and OK, but they were a man down.
Ally my MOTM, some important saves again. VVD not as sharp as he can be tonight, even taking into account it's tough for CBs with players running at you.
They opened us up a fair few times, but they're a tough team to play at their place, and have some sharp players up front.
Ox and Neco coming on, shows lack of depth, Jota didn't do much replacing Mane.
All in all though, really good 3 points, thats a TOUGH place to go, they are winging diving shites, delighted when Mo stuck in the peno and Simeone the bad looser little runt legging it down the tunnel so he doesn't have to shake hands with JĂźrgen.

Boring match and a poor script for entertainment. But fans don't realise how good and significant a win this is.

We have failed to win any of their four Champions League matches against Atletico Madrid (drawn two, lost two).

We have lost six of our past seven away European matches on Spanish soil (drawn one) since beating Real Madrid in the last 16 of the 2008-09 Champions League.

Our last win in Spain came against fellow English opponents, beating Tottenham 2-0 in the 2019 Champions League final in Atletico’s home stadium, the Wanda Metropolitano.

Boss game of footy that from start to finish. Delighted with the win

Simeone's a gobs***e but I still can't help but love him. The way he gets the crowd going is great. Pantomime villan when you're playing him but I'm sure there isn't an Atletico fan who doesn't absolutely adore him.

Regarding their penalty though - did Jota even actually touch him?? Watched the 700 replays like everybody else was subjected to and still couldn't say for definite if there was contact

I thought slight contact but minimal and didn't need the dive . I am adamant though if he saw the angle I saw he may have given it

Hendo, Milner and Keita is a very pedestrian midfield and even substituting Thiago and Fab in there it’s still just as slow.

Is and will be a huge issue for us unless Curtis and Ox can step up, which I’m sceptical.

An ugly win is better than a pretty loss any day of the week , one thing for sure there sure will be some theatrics going on when they rock up to anfield .

That was never a penalty as the video proved, he never made contact should have been booked for cheating.

Simeone was saying about when we went there a couple of years ago, how the game was won for them before the players even got on the pitch. Something tells me that will be the case for us when they come to Anfield next, they are massively rattled now and they will be without Griezemann.

If the player jumps over the ball and impedes the keeper then it's an infringement.
If the player jumps over the ball and impedest Matip then it's not an infringement.
The laws are there for more goals and entertainment so let's not chalk them off.
      Embarrassing...
