Manchester United 0-5 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Oct 24, 2021 03:30:51 pm

Old Trafford hosting the Mighty Reds

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Henderson, Milner, Keita, Jota, Salah, Firmino.

Subs: Adrian, Mane, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Jones, Minamino, Tsimikas, Origi, Matip.

Ibrahima Konate starts in defence as Liverpool make two changes for today’s clash with Manchester United at Old Trafford.

The 22-year-old replaces Joel Matip for the Premier League encounter, while the other alteration sees Diogo Jota come in for Sadio Mane.

Fabinho is absent from the squad due to the effects of a knock sustained to his knee in Madrid in midweek. The issue is not thought to be long term.

Meanwhile, Caoimhin Kelleher is also missing due to illness, but Curtis Jones returns on the bench.

Victory at Manchester United this afternoon would be Jürgen Klopp's 200th as Liverpool manager.

The Premier League encounter at Old Trafford will be Klopp's 331st game in charge of the Reds.

If his side take at least a point, the German will become the first manager in the club's history to record seven successive league fixtures against United without defeat.

Liverpool are unbeaten in the last three visits to Old Trafford in the league and could make it four for the first time since October 1992.

That one hurts for sure. Injured it seems though he didn’t look it after the game.

Hopefully it’s only 45 for Milner because playing his 3rd game in a week he’ll get exploited in the 2nd half as his leg start to go.

Surprised by Mane being rested but Klopp knows what he’s doing for sure. Matip I’m ok with rotating because he and Van Dijk have been underwhelming recently so makes sense to switch it up. Does show Konate has jumped ahead of Gomez for that 3rd spot too.

Mane been very good this season so that's a big disappointment.

Interesting to see how Konate gets on

Oh dear oh dear. Fabinho is a huge loss. And I don't agree with benching mane here. Have they left Bruno or Ronaldo on the bench ??

Matip another I don't like. But with his injury issues I can understand it. Konate hopefully will be upto speed. But fab is a huge loss.

Whoa, couple of curve balls there.
Massive game for Konate to come in :)
And no Fab, big loss that. Keita needs to stronger in the tackle today.
And Mane on the bench, is he injured, have been out all morning so haven't been reading anything.
But we have the no.1 player in the world :)
And good form coming into this, so COYRs!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Thought fab may have been in.
Konate a big surprise for me, not having played in this fixture before. It can make you ku or break you.
Beast of a player, hope he keeps his head.
Mane is a miss also. Glad he’s on the bench. Strange why Jürgen would change the front three when they’ve been on fire. Mabey he’s hdd as f a slight knock.
1:3 for me, or better. COY RED MEN.

Both he and Virgil were terrible against Cuntletico but even moreso Matip because he kept dropping a few feet back not holding the line which helped create problem for us leaving their players free to run in on goal.

That's a blow losing Fab & Joel especially Fabinho,  last thing we want is to give them kunts encouragement, and Mane on the bench is a strange one, still,  we got enough to cause them major issues,  still confident of a win.

God I hope not! Bit of a shock that no Fabinho at all and Mane on the bench! Still think we’ve got enough, but that will give the Mancs a lift!

Im seeing is as having Mane coming in off the bench instead of him not playing.

Keitas form covers Fab, hendo and Milner well able to give protection there

Strange about Sadio for sure. If resting or slight knock i get it but if it’s just tactics then I’m confused. With Fab out I would have like to see 4-2-3-1 and have both Hendo and Milly in front of the D.

Yes would like to see Naby in front of them both and give him more license to join in attack and press
