This result was always coming given the constant upheaval in midfield with this player getting injured and that player getting injured. For as much as we want to say our defence has been sh*t this season, the source lies in the midfield injury crisis (though Alisson has obviously had a shocker today). Look at West Ham, who's form has been borne out of good consistency with injuries which has meant Moyes has only changed his starting eleven 5 times this season. Today is the difference between injury free and injury hit. One side, the more settled, absolutely dominating in midfield.
It's bloody annoying. The irritant side of me thinks 'why are we getting so many injuries - make it STOP' but the other side is thinking 'just bad luck'.
Word for Alisson - yes he's had a shocker but all keepers have them from time to time, even the very best. Fingers crossed he can go away and regain some confidence because it's no doubt going to be a confidence sapper for him.
