Oh for goodness...you do know the fact that these midfielders have won the league and the Champions League for us (and in Thiago's case for Bayern). Paint in the fact that barring Hendo, these players are coming back from injury and playing in makeshift midfields then it adds a bit more perspective to things.

The issue is not necessarily their individual quality, it’s what they offer and how they function as a unit.

It’s also not just about “We should have bought another midfielder”. We lost a lot of solidity in midfield with Wijnaldum. Massively underrated but the lad was instrumental in how we defended and how our midfield functioned. As good as Keita and Thiago are, neither offer anywhere near what Wijnaldum offered.

You are right that this game isnt defining and im not judging them solely on this game, but we have been lacking in midfield this season imo.

mate it was his choice I saw him kissing th ebadge when he scored against Barca but he did not love this club to exist on about £5mil a year
