There won’t be many wholesale changes

Yea, we have no depth. Can’t afford to rotate… ;D Whose fault?

Pretty sure he wont take any risks especially with midfielders. But saying that options are limited.

Morton and young williams have to start.

Im guessing something like this. only question for me, is VVD or philips ?

      --------------- Kehler ------------
      - Williams - Konate - VVD - Kostas
      -------------- Morton ------------
      ------- Hendo ----- OX ----------
      --- Salah - Jota - Taki ----------

Strong bench with all 5 subs being used.

Def hope Morton gets a start and if he does then i also see us having a strong team around him to protect him. Even though we’re already through it’s still a big stage and don’t want him to potentially get exposed against a team that will offer threats offensively.

      From Jurgens point of view?

Nah rhythm will be his top priority, money behind that

If you think that about Jürgen then you don’t get the man

Or is it like the other side, you’re so quick to get your digs in about the owners you’re blind to sense like the ones who want to simply throw net spenders into it as a blanket debate killer want to kill it the other side

      NB: Team no longer available

We need our player fresh for the weekned. I would play like that. At half time, I would change Philips with VVD and Gordon with Mane.

Agree that we should play a reasonably strong side with the weekend game in mind. Ox should be in the starting line up, needs minutes on the pitch. Good idea start Neco Williams. Rotate the strikers maybe bringing Origi on at some point, always likely to grab a goal. Anyhow going for a 3  0 victory for the Reds, after their stunning win against Arsenal.

F**k Atleti play 11 kids. Remember Jota getting injured in a dead CL game. Cant afford that again.

Injury worries over Diogo Jota and an illness for Divock Origi mean the hamstring Roberto Firmino may not be the only Liverpool forward missing on Wednesday.

Takumi Minamino is almost certain to start but, similar to the midfield, there's every chance Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah may have to feature.

      From the echo.

Hendo almost certain to start in MF with Morton and ox or Thiago.

Talking about williams, Philips, Konate & Kostas as the back 4.

      And a very young bench.

Great position to be in to actaully rest players and not worry too much about the guys with small injuries.

Klopp hinting Robbo & hendo maybe not quite ready to start, so both probably on bench and get 30mins or something.

The 4 on the bench Saturday should stay w the first team. Plenty of others to play for the u19s in UEFA.

Did you see the after match interview after the Atletico game? He even admitted it's because the club want the money.

Yeah mate, I’m talking purely from the managers view point
He would want rhythm, the people above him are concerned about the money

Both reasons mean he will pick a strong (enough) side and it won’t be wholesale changes like some want

Reminds me of Rafa playing the likes of Lee Peltier and Danny Guthrie against Galatasary (I think) back in 2006. Playing in that nifty white away strip with green piping we had that season (the strip we beat Barca in a few months later).

      Good times.

Klopp won’t ever make wholesale changes in CL games.

He wouldn't and that people don't see this goes to show they don't pay attention. This isn't the Carabao Cup against Preston. It's the CL against a team that will come out to win as they are fighting for 2nd place to get out of the group stages.

"We always respect the competition but we have to think about ourselves, our schedule and the situation of our players first.

whatever line-up we will show tomorrow night, it is only about winning the game and winning this game, and winning the next and winning the next, all these kind of things. That’s what we are here for.

It is really easy to sit there where you sit or where all the people who judge us in this moment sit and say, 'Leave him out, leave him out.' We leave them all out and we play with a team which is not a Champions League team – we don’t have enough players for that, by the way – and then nobody can get injured. The first question was how much we respect the integrity of the competition. So, it is so easy to sit in your chair and ask these kind of questions, to be honest. We have to line up a team who has a chance to win the football game. The Diogo situation was very unlucky and I hated it that I made the decision. But would I have done the decision the same again? That's the only question I have to answer. Yes, because you need stability. We cannot play football games like with this line-up and then next game [a] line-up who no chance to win a game and then bring them back again. Players need rhythm, all these kind of things. So really, that you only bring it up, I don’t think it’s fair that you bring up this old story that a player got injured. They all can get injured. Do I make the decision who I don't care if he gets injured with the line-up tomorrow night? No, I can’t and I will not. These things happen in football and hopefully nothing happens tomorrow."

Really tough to predict this one. I'd like to see Taki and Neco start as we've heard both have developed further. Taki looks a lot physically stronger to me than when he arrived. Going for a narrow 2-1 win with a bit of a disjointed performance.

I knew Lee Peltier was still playing for Middlesborough, but I just looked up Danny Guthrie and learned he played this past season (spring to fall) in Iceland.

Hopefully we’ll play a fairly strong team - though there’s a few I’d like to see wrapped in cotton wool. Let’s rest Thiago, Trent… and Mo.

Would be great to see Minamino start, and surely we kept Origi for dead rubbers like this….
