Hopefully Big Nat gets a start alongside Konate since Gomez is hurt. Having 5 subs will also help a lot with early subs for any regulars who may start.

Given Phillips couldn’t even get any starts in the League Cup, I’d be surprised if he was to start this game.

Pretty sure he wont take any risks especially with midfielders. But saying that options are limited.

Morton and young williams have to start.

Im guessing something like this. only question for me, is VVD or philips ?

      --------------- Kehler ------------
      - Williams - Konate - VVD - Kostas
      -------------- Morton ------------
      ------- Hendo ----- OX ----------
      --- Salah - Jota - Taki ----------

Strong bench with all 5 subs being used.

Def hope Morton gets a start and if he does then i also see us having a strong team around him to protect him. Even though we’re already through it’s still a big stage and don’t want him to potentially get exposed against a team that will offer threats offensively.

      From Jurgens point of view?

Nah rhythm will be his top priority, money behind that

If you think that about Jürgen then you don’t get the man

Or is it like the other side, you’re so quick to get your digs in about the owners you’re blind to sense like the ones who want to simply throw net spenders into it as a blanket debate killer want to kill it the other side

      NB: Team no longer available

We need our player fresh for the weekned. I would play like that. At half time, I would change Philips with VVD and Gordon with Mane.

Agree that we should play a reasonably strong side with the weekend game in mind. Ox should be in the starting line up, needs minutes on the pitch. Good idea start Neco Williams. Rotate the strikers maybe bringing Origi on at some point, always likely to grab a goal. Anyhow going for a 3  0 victory for the Reds, after their stunning win against Arsenal.

F**k Atleti play 11 kids. Remember Jota getting injured in a dead CL game. Cant afford that again.

Injury worries over Diogo Jota and an illness for Divock Origi mean the hamstring Roberto Firmino may not be the only Liverpool forward missing on Wednesday.

Takumi Minamino is almost certain to start but, similar to the midfield, there's every chance Sadio Mane and Mohamed Salah may have to feature.

      From the echo.

Hendo almost certain to start in MF with Morton and ox or Thiago.

Talking about williams, Philips, Konate & Kostas as the back 4.

      And a very young bench.

Great position to be in to actaully rest players and not worry too much about the guys with small injuries.

Klopp hinting Robbo & hendo maybe not quite ready to start, so both probably on bench and get 30mins or something.

The 4 on the bench Saturday should stay w the first team. Plenty of others to play for the u19s in UEFA.

See, this is how you excuse yourself from naming a strong side. Unfit, injured etc…

Did you see the after match interview after the Atletico game? He even admitted it's because the club want the money.

Yeah mate, I’m talking purely from the managers view point
He would want rhythm, the people above him are concerned about the money

Both reasons mean he will pick a strong (enough) side and it won’t be wholesale changes like some want

Reminds me of Rafa playing the likes of Lee Peltier and Danny Guthrie against Galatasary (I think) back in 2006. Playing in that nifty white away strip with green piping we had that season (the strip we beat Barca in a few months later).

      Good times.
