Klopp wonā€™t ever make wholesale changes in CL games.

He wouldn't and that people don't see this goes to show they don't pay attention. This isn't the Carabao Cup against Preston. It's the CL against a team that will come out to win as they are fighting for 2nd place to get out of the group stages.

"We always respect the competition but we have to think about ourselves, our schedule and the situation of our players first.

whatever line-up we will show tomorrow night, it is only about winning the game and winning this game, and winning the next and winning the next, all these kind of things. Thatā€™s what we are here for.

It is really easy to sit there where you sit or where all the people who judge us in this moment sit and say, 'Leave him out, leave him out.' We leave them all out and we play with a team which is not a Champions League team ā€“ we donā€™t have enough players for that, by the way ā€“ and then nobody can get injured. The first question was how much we respect the integrity of the competition. So, it is so easy to sit in your chair and ask these kind of questions, to be honest. We have to line up a team who has a chance to win the football game. The Diogo situation was very unlucky and I hated it that I made the decision. But would I have done the decision the same again? That's the only question I have to answer. Yes, because you need stability. We cannot play football games like with this line-up and then next game [a] line-up who no chance to win a game and then bring them back again. Players need rhythm, all these kind of things. So really, that you only bring it up, I donā€™t think itā€™s fair that you bring up this old story that a player got injured. They all can get injured. Do I make the decision who I don't care if he gets injured with the line-up tomorrow night? No, I canā€™t and I will not. These things happen in football and hopefully nothing happens tomorrow."

Really tough to predict this one. I'd like to see Taki and Neco start as we've heard both have developed further. Taki looks a lot physically stronger to me than when he arrived. Going for a narrow 2-1 win with a bit of a disjointed performance.

Reminds me of Rafa playing the likes of Lee Peltier and Danny Guthrie against Galatasary (I think) back in 2006. Playing in that nifty white away strip with green piping we had that season (the strip we beat Barca in a few months later).

      Good times.

I knew Lee Peltier was still playing for Middlesborough, but I just looked up Danny Guthrie and learned he played this past season (spring to fall) in Iceland.

Hopefully weā€™ll play a fairly strong team - though thereā€™s a few Iā€™d like to see wrapped in cotton wool. Letā€™s rest Thiago, Trentā€¦ and Mo.

Would be great to see Minamino start, and surely we kept Origi for dead rubbers like thisā€¦.

If Morton does start I think Matip or VVD will start to help the lad.

Probably Virg, as we know how Matip picks up Injuries.

Whatever team it is, it will be an interesting game.

                                        Kellerher

      N Williams      Philips          Konate            Tsimikas

                  Henderson     Milner       Morten

          AOC                      Origi                Minamino

Saturday is a much much bigger game. And with our current injury issues I'd hope to not have to see any of the players I've left out.

And Klopp will have other ideas as he has already stated about the integrity of the competition.

doesnt he say the same about the FA Cup. He will put out a side he thinks is strong enough to win it.

Doesnā€™t use the same sort of language- has said uses the cups to rotate and rest players but has the belief the team he puts out is good enough to win

Thereā€™s no money in winning the domestic cups so the ā€œpressureā€ from above isnā€™t the same

We must only rotate twice a season then because we usually get knocked out in the 3rd round of each Cup very year.

Tonight is an ideal chance ... cant risk a threadbare squad getting more injuries in a game with nothing on it and then complain about the amount of games.

We have done the job and earned the right to rotate. And to be totally honest if people don't like it then tough. Nobody does us any favors. Id love to see Porto or Milan advance at the expense of athletico.
