My heart will stop having jitters when Ali remembers he's a goalie and not a forward  :f_tongueincheek:

He was shocking today. Ouch. The first one it looks like he took a couple steps back, then ran forward but slipped and came inches from bringing the player down which would have been an easy penalty and maybe even a red.

The miscommunication between he and Matip was pretty tough too and i think on another day luck doesn't smile at us and we get a penalty against as there was contact with the player.

Ugly, scrappy and putrid game of football. Shocking officiating, i'd love to know what the longest phase of play was before the ref blew his whistle.

Ox looks done. Think that last injury has done him in. He was looking good before that. Doesn't look like he has any confidence.

Well, despite the ref doing everything in his power to destroy the flow of the game we got the three points.

      What do points make?

      Job done. Clean sheet kept.

Walt, What would you have changed about our team in this match?

just think form goes in cycles and often after a great run starting at UTD then stumbling at W.Ham we maybe go a bit flat. We dont get to see the lads in training and #i bet Stevie had his lads fired up for a 90 min defensive performance. Not sure if I would ever question Jürgen. We are in a great position but havent reached our peak yet and that needs to come end of Feb March.
or we could just get some decent Referees in the EPL

Clean sheet kept and the 3 points are taken. That's all we needed and the players delivered. Gutsy performance

Come AFCON this is the type of performances we'll need. Solid at the back in order to keep the clean sheet and simplify the frontline's work, take the 3 points and on the next game.

This pisses me off so much ! “There was contact”
When are people gonna understand, contact is not necessarily a foul. Think for yourself, don’t just copy what’s said by tw*ts in commentary boxes 🤯

      Jürgen post match comment:

"So, what can I say? I think we were the better team; for 75 minutes, for sure, and opened up the game in the last 15 minutes because we lost rhythm a little bit, we changed offensively and all of a sudden there were some situations, half-chances, situations that were a little bit tricky. But for 75 minutes we were the clear better side. I don’t know exactly what that says about Villa now because I’m not so much in that. My job today was to make sure that we caused Villa a lot of problems and I think we did that over 75 minutes with the way we played. We could have been better around the last pass, our decision-making there could have been better. One or two more bodies in the box in one or two moments would have been helpful. But that’s it."

Thought Fabinho was like having two midfielders today.  Supreme.

The sight of him and Jordan fronting that Mings and whoever else was trying to put Mo off for the pen was impressive.

Gerrard had them well marshalled today, snidey fuckers too!

Good to see us stand up to and dish a little bit of our own about. Fab, Matip, Trent, Robbo, Salah and Mane threw in some impressive performances. A second goal would of been nice, but again we see out another 1-0 win.

3 points. Would have bit your hand off for that beforehand. That's all that matters. Was made up the Gerrard song got shouted down at 0-0 with a chorus of "Liverpool, Liverpool" his testimonial was years ago

Good hard fought win where all that matters was getting the three points and that’s what the lads did. Must admit I thought the pen was soft and had the ref not given it I’m not sure VAR would have overturned it. It was clever from Mo to get his body in front of the ball and slow up knowing Mings will make contact. I also thought the same if the Allison incident at the other end, seen them given.

Some decent analysis in motd (for a change) where they highlighted how dominant we were defensively. I think fab and Matip have been terrific all season. So great to have them back!

Ps. I’m kinda glad we didn’t tonk them. It feels inevitable that Stevie will be the next man as and when Klioop calls it a day so I hope he does the business at Villa and really cuts his teeth at this level
