Tottenham Hotspur 2-2 Liverpool: In game and Post Match discussion
      Dec 19, 2021 03:30:30 pm

      Spurs hosting Liverpool in London

Starting XI: Alisson, Alexander-Arnold, Matip, Konate, Robertson, Morton, Milner, Keita, Mane, Salah, Jota.

Subs: kelleher, Firmino, Gomez, Oxlade-Chamberlain, Minamino, Tsimikas, Gordon, Williams, Quansah.

Tyler Morton is handed a first Premier League start in Liverpool’s clash at Tottenham Hotspur today.

With Thiago Alcantara the latest player to be ruled out due to a suspected positive COVID-19 test and Jordan Henderson absent due to illness, the 19-year-old begins in midfield.

Morton is one of three changes made by the Reds in London, with the others seeing Naby Keita and James Milner come into the side.

Thiago Alcantara will miss this afternoon’s Premier League fixture with Tottenham Hotspur after registering a suspected positive test for COVID-19.

The midfielder is now isolating and will play no part in the encounter in London.

In addition, Jordan Henderson is also absent because of illness. The captain has registered a negative test for COVID-19, but has been withdrawn from selection due to feeling unwell.

All of the Reds’ first-team squad and staff have been tested for COVID-19 on Saturday as well as this morning, with no further positive cases detected, which includes Henderson.

Keita needs to step up and not get injured in the first 85 minutes.

Morton rather AOC, brave choice from Klopp but he can do it.

Will be difficult but we have what it takes. Conte has fully squad back :(

That's a strange midfield, though happy to see more of Morton.

This should be interesting, both excited and anxious at that midfield.

It’s the obvious choice. Ox is not a 6 in any way while Morton is and so far been darn good at it.

Basically we will need to take our chances.

Defence and midfield starting to creak.

First time on the bench for Quansah? Enjoy this moment, kid.
(Not going to lie, I had to google him...  ;D)

Morton has proved he could be relied on, I have full confidence in the lad.

Our defence is 4/5 of our first team, we will be fine. Tottenham have picked players also who would not typically start (Ndombele, Alii etc..)

He's a center half and his passing out of the back is good. Saying that, he's not one of those from the U23s  that trains with the first team. Unlikely to feature I think it is safe to say, but must be some day for him.
