I know what they are saying, but I think thats to prove the point about kanes, why didnt the ref go and look at that on the VAR monitor.

And yes, I can see why it was given as a red, but if kanes is not a red, then robbos isnt. ;D

Equal standards of refereeing must be applied, they are the ultimate affecting factor in the game, these are qualified professionals who should judge impartially at all times!

This particular official should not referee another top flight game this season and only continue next season after visiting Spec Savers.

Its the VAR refs and this crap of deciding if its a clear mistake. If VAR refs see something they should be able to just tell the ref.

There’s no difference mate, at Stockley it’s simply a case of Ref looking after ref, each ref in turn has a spell at Stockley park, no one can tell me that refs don’t have conversations, so issues like that of yesterday will continue, until referees are removed from Stockley and replaced by independent arbiters nothing will change,
Look how VAR works in Europe as opposed to here, it’s a tool to aide refereeing decisions and help with judgements fair or foul, but our refs use it simply to cover each other’s back’s and shirk their responsibilities and avoid accountability,

I’ve said it before, refereeing in this country and indeed this league are sub standard, governing bodies should have the power to insist referee’s from other leagues ply their trade in all European leagues and not just homegrown domestic leagues where impartiality could be compromised.

It’s the same carry on through every tier of the FA, each and every official right up to the boss man back each other up.

Robbo was a red mate - even Klopp said it as well

Less of a red than Kane's though.

What contact did Robertson actually make?

Agree, but actually if you watch it Emerson is quite switched on and puts his body/leg across where Robbo is tackling, if he doesn’t do that it’s likely a yellow as the contact isn’t there

However it’s more about intent and recklessness than anything

Kane was 100% a red, but that doesn’t matter on if Robbos was or not anyway or which was worse… both should have been reds, and that for me just shows how inept the ref was

Problem is for me, it’s that the ref has clearly never played the game to any real sort of level, he doesn’t understand the game outside of a rule book

Moving away from Var and kane gor a moment......

We could have conceeded 5 or 6 yesterday no exaggeration. Yes we were short players but is that reason enough to accept giving up the chances we did? Aside from Morton that was not a team full of inexperoenced players.

Was it our system, was it their system or a combo of both ties in with missing players?

Think it was a mix of a lot of things to be honest

The midfield being one, young Morton was being naively dragged out of position consistently, look back at their first goal and look where he is, he’s over by the throw in line, having gone beyond both Milner and Naby to get there, then misses his tackle, Milner then has to go out of position to try to cover for it
There were numerous times where he did, he’ll learn from that but out of possession he was poor

Then if you look at him being out of possession, when our full backs are high, plus no Virgil (as well as Fabinho) we were horribly exposed to the long counter attack ball that spurs were playing
With virg and Fabinho in there we are far better set up to stop those types of balls

Spurs also have two almost perfect players in Son and Kane to expose that

The whole system at this level relies on all 11 players playing their part, if one or two aren’t doing their jobs the knock on to others having to cover and not do theirs and it falls apart

Win and lose games in midfield and we certainly didn’t win it there yesterday

Midfield also needs to get the ball to the front three and ours were pretty starved of the ball overall yesterday, we hardly got it to Mo at all and again that’s on the midfield

I’m sure the ref saying he never gave Jota a pen because he slowed down allowing the van player to run into the back of him deliberately. Also, Kane never got a red because Robbo managed to get his foot off the ground before the contact. Clearly to avoid getting his ankle snapped.
This has to be conceived after they’ve watched the replays, so they can manufacture a reason for not giving the right decision.
It’s all managed within the sick little circle of officialdom that runs our game.
It won’t get any better until the lot of them are cleared out, or every contentious decision has to be transparent, and two strikes snd you’re out !
Back down to league 2 and work your way back up sgain.

Tierny would be out for the two horrendous errors yesterday !

Apart from the above post, it might not change the outcome of the game, but it would mean dirty bas**rds like Kane don’t get away with their dirty challenges.

Naby is coming back from injury and Milly is no spring chicken as well as coming back from injury all things considered I think they did well.Conte is no mug and set up his team to hurt us and the REF had far too much influence on the outcome of the game

Look at it in slow motion. It's thigh to thigh. He hasn't kicked him. Kane's however was boot up straight into the leg.

Not saying it's not a red, but unbelievable that they had the ref check it again when it was less dangerous than Kane's.
