Part of the problem yesterday was Klopp playing Morton against a strong team with our midfield all ready weakened, Morton getting booked made it worse. Klopp should have changed it at half time

Like everyone else I have watched the match again and was just thinking ...would Kane have done something like that to Souness ? brought a smile to my face

He may have. But in the aftermath he would have wished he had been sent off. The alternative would probably have been going off on a stretcher.

I voted Trent reflexively after the game, wish I could change it to Alli.

Former ref Mark Clattenburg has criticised the officiating in the Spurs game saying Andy Robertson is ā€œlucky to be walkingā€.
Our man was on the end of a studs-up sliding tackle from Kane.

      Kane only got a yellow.

ā€œI think Kaneā€™s tackle was worse than Robertsonā€™sā€ he said.

anyone with two cells rattling around in their Skull knows Kane deserves a 3 game ban and all that bad PR that goes with a career ending tackle. To come on TV and say it was a good tackle says all you need to know about him and his club. Listening to Spurs fans you think they had won the CL final they wanted a Penalty for ALi and the goal disallowed for handball. As for Walton and the bald c**t on SKY I have no words for them

The whole world now knows Kane is a compulsive liar when he said that he got the ball. Either that or he's headed one too may balls and turned his brains to mush. In reality he's just another snide tw*t supported by no mark England fans.

According to The Secret Footballer, some refs are afraid of some players. I reckon this is the case with the England captain who also happens to be a diver, claims goals he didnā€™t score and refuses to acknowledge his bad challenge.

When you think of him and Jordan Henderson how the F**k did he become Cpt of England other than being in London the man is an oaf whilst Jordan is every inch a Cpt and leads by example in everything he does.

when your entire first choice midfield is out, you go down to 10 men, and you're fighting against laughably biased officiating, is actually a pretty good effort.

Gave Robbo MOTM. He was outstanding, and his red card should only have been a yellow. Just a full blooded but mistimed attempt to win the ball. Crazy that completely non-dangerous foul gets a red and Kane gets a yellow for one that could have broken a leg.

They're two separate incidents, that have to be considered on their own merits, they're not linked to each other.

If there was biased officiating, our second goal would not have stood, and their penalty appeals would have been listened to.

While in other recent games, Milner would have got a second yellow against City, and two toffees would have got penalties against us in the derby rather than yellow cards for diving. Same ref. The issue with him is not bias, and he's still a level or two above Dean Moss and Atkinson.

it would mean dirty bas**rds like Kane donā€™t get away with their dirty challenges.

Retrospective bans following the analysis of games !
      Automatic 3 game ban.

He didn't get away with it. He got booked, so there can't be retrospective action. If he was sent off though, we would have to face a 10 man defence with a goal to protect, which would have probably made our job harder rather than easier.

      Quote from DanMann
Less of a red than Kane's though.

What contact did Robertson actually make?

A lot unfortunately. Robbo held his hands up, JĆ¼rgen accepted the decision, so you can't really argue.

Kane should have gone, (Pogba did go for a similar challenge against us recently) but there were lots of challenges in the game. Some were punished, others were not, but they all have to be judged on their own merits. Just because one is a red card, doesn't necessarily mean a separate challenge must also be a red.

      Quote from LondonRed83
Heā€™s still world class, he made a mistake but believe me, we would miss him bad if he were to move on.

Heā€™s a class act and maybe over confident sometimes, however that edge makes him incredibly hard to beat and unpredictable. How many times has he saved a one on one?

      That's no defence unfortunately.

The error was awful. All he had to do was pick the ball up to deal with it. I don't know if Taffarel is telling him to charge out of his box and clear it away instead, but it's happening too often lately, and eventually something was going to result from it. It's not his first major error this season, it's not even his first this month. He got away with it against Villa which would have thrown another 2 points away because he can't save penalties, and if any other keeper did it, everyone would hold them accountable, rather than reel off all the other saves he made. That isn't going to bring the 2 dropped points back.

I'm realistic enough to know he won't, but if Kelleher got the nod over him tomorrow, I would have no worries whatsoever.

      Quote from Brian78
We could have conceeded 5 or 6 yesterday no exaggeration. Yes we were short players but is that reason enough to accept giving up the chances we did?

We gave as good as we got. We could have scored 5 or 6 ourselves, we had more shots and shots on target. It was a basketball game in the first half, less so in the second, but it could have finished any score in the end. We got a result out of there, which is better than what City got after all. It could be the difference in the end.
