      Covid, other illnesses and injuries.

      Apparently not.

Just reeks of we’re in sh*te form, have some injuries, and will in all likelihood get battered again . Cynic in me I guess…

worth a cheeky request to the FA to count this game as one of Robbo's and leave him out when they come to Anfield.

Leeds utd have had their stay of execution request accepted, the judges decided that, it would have been an unfair punishment, to send them into the Anfield cauldron, for a long drawn out slaying.

Mixed emotions. Glad we get a break in this crazy time, but bummed it comes with no boxing day football. It's one of 3 days a year that I get all my friends over to watch. In America these games come on early, so the sacrifice isn't made by them often. Lol

Are you in the west coast? Time difference there is rough.

Nah, that would be brutal. Especially the 1230 kick offs. One opening day I drove 2 hours to closest LFC pub for a 730 kick off. That was a rough one. Especially when Watford equalized in the last minute

Disappointed at first, but it's good news. Two games with one rest day in between is unacceptable.

Not ideal! Experienced that when I was in the US. Was just as bad out in Australia too though, used to get up at some crazy times when I was over there. The midday games were fine because it was like 10pm for me, but the 3pm games onwards weren’t the most fun.

Yeah East coast was much better for game times!

Blessing in disguise, feel for those who had booked tickets and flight’s, as for the game it allows extra rest and recuperation for the walking wounded, Leeds are simply delaying the inevitable battering they would have suffered anyway,

We will all miss the boys playing again of course but just sit back, relax, get f***in trousered, stoned or whatever floats yer boat and look forward to yer dry turkey sandwiches, have fun with the bin lids, totally wear them out and then give the misses one when their snoring their wee heids off, happy days !!

      HAPPY CRIMBO EVERYONE 🤪🍺🥃🍷🎁🎈🍺🥃🍷🤢⚽️🥃🍷🍺🤮🤪😴💩🎈🍺🥃🍷🤮

I think we do have to agree with the date?

Just watch Leeds have a huge improvement in form by the time we play them in Feb or whenever!!

And we will improve our form, too. We have nothing to fear from Leeds ;)

We may not have a Boxing Day match, but we’ve still got Christmas to celebrate with our families, and s few days off work for most.
Rest up, be merry, have an extra few bevvies, and a great time over the festive period, and a brilliant title wining new year. 🍻🥂🥃🙋🏼

Later on in the season, batter them into submission and relegate the woollyback tw*ts!!

Yep, away wouldve been tricky considering if they had a good day. But at anfield? Quite confident we can beat them any day.

We are getting a bit screwed here, aren't we? Chelsea and City faced a weakened Leeds squad, and we won't...
Don't get me wrong, we should be able to win this anyway, but it seems unfair.

Much needed and good for us imo

I am a firm believer that 11 vs 11 we are the best in the league but we can struggle once we have a few injuries because we don’t have a blank cheque book like city or Chelsea. So naturally they would be able to cope better with injuries and covid imo especially city

Covid for me has already cost us a victory vs spurs, we would have battered them had we had a proper midfield that game, imagine not having our 3 best cm in the team and still draw against a decent side

We need time to get our boys back and then we can hopefully put in plans to mitigate the covid risk. No reason for us to drop points when we otherwise would not with a decent healthy squad

I’m sure this game can be squeezed in later in the year in a mid week and we shouldn’t have too much trouble imo

On the bright side Leicester have city and then us so we should have much more legs than them to hopefully get a comfortable win where otherwise it can be a banana skin away to Leicester

Doesn't matter, Jürgen has been banging on about this for about a week now, so one of the fixtures would have had to be rescheduled anyway.

He had no say in the timing, never does. But complaints about the fixture schedule at this time of year are as traditional as turkey dinners. In this league you play football during Christmas, that's just the way it is, and you can use as many arguments as you want, but you're not going to change it. The fixture list comes out in June, it does matter when you play teams, you have 6 months notice of who you're going to play at this time of year, and it's very likely you will be asked to play 2 games in 3 days, as we were this year. So if you want to take part, then you have to adapt to the situation, because it won't be adapted to suit you.

a league cup final appearance would throw another fixture out

It's off already, whether we get there or not.
