Can't look at any football news this morning, really disappointing result and performance last night. Wasn't expecting it at all.
Have to hope that it was a one off and we can get back on track vs Chavs, cause its going to be the same players lining out.
It's Citehs to loose now but sh*t can happen in this covid era so we just have to try hang in there and then hope they drop points.

In short Leicester played quite considering they have been poor of late but you lot had a bad day in the office, the consistency wasn’t at the usual standards. Probably been least a draw if you scored the penalty which no doubt would of changed the game.

I’m as disappointed as the next bloke, i honestly thought  We’d  wipe the floor with them last night, it was clear that from 15 mins onwards we weren’t quite at the races, something wasn’t right, maybe with us missing  Virgil, Fab et al to covid, we re-adjusted to playing without them and found the transition back more difficult than expected throwing us off kilter, that’s as good a reason as any because even Jürgen can’t explain why we were so poor,

Now I came on here today to view some of the reactions and surprise surprise as our Cilla used to say, the negative vibes are astonishing, giving up the title half way through the season is simply just f***in pathetic to be honest, 19 games played 19 games remaining, in those played we have lost twice and drawn twice, who’s to say the same won’t happen to City within the next 19 games, they have to play ourselves and Chavs so two potential losses there, City are not infallible, we have seen in the past that they are prone to bad office days like we have had, especially when the CL kicks off again, this season is far from over ffs,

It wasn’t pretty last night by any means, in past seasons we’ve had games like that, or games where nothing seems to work, we try too hard or simply we are gash and having one of those rare off days, so Chavs up next, maybe last night was a kick up the Arse we needed and take us down the arrogant notch a peg or two, Jürgen will do his stuff and have the boys ready and able by Sunday, last night quite clearly was a blip, Mo missing a pen, Mane flouting in front of goal, Jota miles off his usual form, Ox least said the better, the Covidee’s struggled to adapt, even Trent was off kilter, Ali had virtually F**k all to do apart from the obvious, only Matip and Kostas were as near normal as possible, sh*t time to have a blip of course but how the F**k do you plan for that ?

A completely sh*te day at the official ppl, that’s all, like finding out some f**ker has sh*t in your kettle when your gagging for a cuppa, it happens and it’ll happen again, but hopefully not again this season.

Lots of wrist slashing on here ,we are not out of the title race ,yes its going to be hard but its still on for me until it becomes impossible ! really think all the players should apologise to Jürgen for not putting in a decent performance if i'm honest! January might be a time to say goodbye to players who just are not going to be here long term or be squad players ,but I do feel we need another striker and midfielder , can't change history so we go onwards to the next game !

some bollox comments because people are being realistic based on a number of factors not just last night. Its like the bollox during the lean years when we were always  2 players short of a league winning side but we never did get those two players until VVD and Ali turned up. The lesson here is you have to buy players of their quality to win anything and City have 20 plus players of that ilk. So carry on believing still all to play for whilst others view the results and the squad in real terms as infact Jürgen did last night.

if you look at the stats you can convince yourself we played well and should have won easy but looking at the game we seemed to be playing on memory there was no real spark or intent. Jürgen himself looked slightly off colour and was unable to explain the performance but he wasnt happy at all was he. We  have stuck by OX and Naby but how long before we realise it aint going to happen for them. It puts us in the position of really not being able to lose another game and going to on to beat City and Chelsea away. Tall order but this team looks to have run out of ideas and steam.

We didn't play well. The intensity was largely missing. But we still could and should have won.

To say the team is therefore out of ideas, I can't agree with that Walton. Still a great team in world football that is 2nd in the league, swept through the group stage of UEFA and is facing a Cup semifinal.

This team has done great things and will continue to do so.

there have been warning signs all season and what we have achieved counts for nothing now they are locked away in the Trophy Room. The point was if you used your eyes we looked awful and Jürgen said this himself but the Stats suggest it was a dominate display and we should have won easy. We were so slow in the final third and we are only halfway through the season. Perversely we will not miss Sadio on his current form just Mo and hopefully Bobby will find some form and Divok shows us why we all love him so much.

I think the gaffer summed it up pretty good after the game when he said ''too many performances bellow the normal level''. In any other league in the world it would be okay to drop a few points here and there, lose the odd game. However, the reality of the current PL is that this City side is way too good for anybody to challenge them by being simply ''very good''. It's not enough. You need to be damn near perfect.

I'm not going to talk about tittle chances and all that but the only thing I will say is that a defeat away at Leicester during the busy festive period is not what hurt us. What hurt us was those points dropped against Brentford and Brighton as well as the defeat at West Ham. The two draws put you 1 point behind city. You avoid defeat at West Ham and you are level on point.

It is always expected that you'll have a bit of a rough time around the busy schedule of the holidays but in this type of tittle race you can't go into that period with a total of 7 points dropped against teams outside the top 6.

All we can do is regroup, work harder and hope this periodical drop in the level we've seen happen more than a few times since the beginning of the season stops happening.

Being realistic its a huge ask now to catch city but its not beyond possible that theycan or will drop points to us and chelsea.

Spurs and utd potentially could nick something and how many times over the last few seasons habe they dropped points to a palace or southampton tupe team

Yes itll be tough but no way is it over

Well seeing as this is likely to be their 4th title in 5 years, not very often

That’s not having a go at us, I think we are an unbelievable side, but we don’t have the depth and squad they do or the financial clout to keep up

When Mo is off the boil we don't score.

Now he's gone for most of January we will really struggle for goals.

Finish top 4 and win a cup preferably the CL I'll be very happy.

I know the managers and players complain about having the quick turnaround of games over Christmas but I think there’s a lot to be said about being the team to play just 2 days prior. Don’t think there’s any doubt about it that the players probably enjoyed Christmas a bit more this year having had Boxing Day off and although Leicester lost 6-3 to City, their 2nd half performance gave them a big boost going into our game where as it had been over a week since our first choice 11 would’ve played together - the disappointing draw vs Spurs. If we’d have played Leeds on Boxing Day then IMO we would’ve been in a better way for the game yesterday because we were lethargic, we weren’t sharp in any of our play, players looked complacent and almost as though they expected Leicester to run out of steam but it didn’t happen. Some teams are better off for a break between games but IMO we step it up more when the games are coming at us thick and fast.

When Mo is off the boil we don't score

Not necessarily the case. Mo had a very poor game against Spurs but we still scored twice.

Divock Origi an important squad player, his goals give us extra firepower, especially coming off the bench. We certainly could have done with him, last night against Leicester.

Don't think people are giving up, certainly know Jürgen and the lads won't - but with a 6 point gap, Chavs next, our form, Citehs form, AFCON, the odds are lengthening.
People are disappointed with the game last night was a tough watch, but yep, lot of games still to be played.

Agree, Citeh have the deeper squad, a decent gap at the top now, and the form. Think people are allowed to be a be disappointed about that in terms of the title race after watching the game last night.

Sure Jürgen admitted it himself after the game saying it was a big gap and we were poor on the night.

Obviously a long way to go and you never know, Citeh might get hit with some bad form, covid, something else. But no point in pretending that we haven't seen teams like this pull away. Just have to hope it doesn't happen, but it's in their hands really.

Also said it was never our intention to let City run away with the title and now it's a case of just see how many points we can get. So I think it's pretty clear how it's looking right now.

Didn't they draw 0-0 at home against Southampton earlier this year? They're not going to win the remaining games in the season so the opportunity will be there to catch them, but if we're 6 points behind it's not because how strong City are but because how careless we have been. Dropped points like at Brentford and Spurs where you have the lead late are our fault and no one else's. Even in our own game against City they tied it up in the 81st minute. We haven't been able to consistently see the game out this season and that is the biggest area that needs improvement in the second half.

Matip was undoubtedly our best player on the pitch (as bad as that is!!).

Thing is, notice how many times he was left to carry the ball forward?! Almost as if his role last night was to be our 'creative player'. Obviously not planned that way, but demonstrates how bad we were playing that our lads left it to him to try and win us the game.

Trent on the other hand was utter useless. He literally gave up on taking corners because he recognised how bad he was. But why??! What was going on with these lads that they couldn't even cross the ball?

A key moment that summed Salah up was when we had a counter attack in the first half, he had the ball on the half way line, and Mane sprinted down his left. Instead of releasing the ball which was simply the obvious move that any average player would do, he held on, was pressured by a Leicester players, and lost it.
