He will miss the arsenal game as well?
Like I said earlier, might as well play the game as this is the new normal.
Covid isn’t going away. Cases will still happen.
Either two things need to happen.
1.) covid is eradicated - which is doubtful.
2.) we need to stop moaning about cases and just accept football and society in general will be unpredictable and farcical.

football isnt like running Tesco's its finely balanced  and these cases massively affect a clubs abilities and this so supposed to be a level playing field

Exactly. So what to do? Postpone every game and hope we are not forced to play 3 or 4 games a week in April and May?

If they completed last season they can finish this one. Omicron is more contagious but less severe for young adults. We have the therapeutic (pill regimen) now as well. Protocols are changing in some places, shortening the quarantine period, etc.

The season definitely should be OK to be completed.

Well arsenal completed imploded, and handed City 3 points.
Before the implosion, they were playing City very well.

I have no doubt they will finish the season. But the sporting integrity and level playing field will be gone.
It won’t be down to tactics. It will be down to luck and circumstance beyond our control.

It doesn’t feel like sport at the minute.

I remember in the past sometimes you would face a team with massive injury list, and that’s fair enough. It happens now and then. But when teams are missing 5/6/7 players and coaching staff and managers it becomes a bit of a joke. Especially as it seems to be getting worse.

Next winter is World Cup time. Can you imagine national teams having to go with weakened squads? It will be a joke then as well.

I’ll say what I keep on saying...
We need to stop concentrating on cases. Hospitalisation are down so the vaccines have done their bit.
Stop testing. If not, this is how it’s always going to be.

What the odds on this going ahead with our injury's, Covid and now the boss positive?

The problem is they make the decision on the hoof without any clear consistency

Seeing rumours of Matip too. Is looking more and more likely it won’t go ahead.

No new cases in the playing staff today confirmed by club (so Matip rumour apparently false), so I think it goes ahead. The Klopp absence won't matter to the league.

      Win it for Jürgen.

I wouldn't call it an implosion -- VAR awarded a bullshit pen for Betnardo flinging himself to the ground.  That moment changed the game.    It's always hard to compete against City, but it's impossible when they are getting 100% of all the refereeing and VAR decisions....

Can't see it being cancelled, unless we loose a fair few more players to covid on one side or the other.
