Good chance for recovered players to shake off the rust. Hopefully we can get up big quick and then give most the hook and get ready for Arsenal.

Definitely wanna see Jones boss the park. He needs a game and some confidence. Going to need him the rest of the season.

He played one match last season and did pretty well.

I know it is frightening, but I definitely want Adrian if it is a choice between him and Loris Karius. Kind of like choosing between two ugly birds. You start scraping for redeeming characteristics ("that one doesn't spit when she talks, so, let's go with her").

      What a state of affairs.

I rather we put the names of all season ticket holders in a hat and Jürgen pulls out a name and whoever wins goes in goal over Adrian.

The FA Cup is the only domestic cup that matters. Since we are virtually done in the league I'd like to see us going strong in this competition. So bring the best of the rest (that is COVID-free).

The club don’t give a sh*te really about the fa cup

      It’s £1m prize money

Qualifying for the CL is the clubs/owners priority

A million pound prize money trophy does not matter whatsoever in the grand scheme for them

Probably true. But for us and the public the FA Cup is still some valueable piece of metal, alone because of its long tradition.

Its incredible that the prize money for winning the FA cup is only slightly more than we get for a draw in one CL group stage game.

Either UEFA are geniuses or the FA are idiots. Probably the latter.

The sponsership and Telly rights for the CL are massive - FA Cup not so much

Nice to have football back this weekend, hopefully the tie goes ahead against Shrewsbury tomorrow. I am going for a 2  0 win for the Reds to ease us into the next round of the competition.

      Definitely the latter I'd say.

Almost impossible to predict a line up for this one.

its the owners who dont care I suspect even the players from Overseas respect the competition and as a fan a day out at Wembley is memorable sorry the Cup doesnt make money for the owners but fans still enjoy a good FA Cup game or giant killing game

Big Joel back yesterday and Leighton Clarkson maybe involved. Hopefully Jürgen maybe as well. Sounds the rest depends on the testing

Disagree with that. Sure if we get past Arsenal and make it to the final of the League Cup there'll be tens of thousands of reds in the capital who it would matter to. Both domestic cups have fell massively in stature over the last two decades or so but at the end of the day they're still trophies which you have to play several knockout rounds over the period of several months to reach the final of. For example if we make it to the League Cup final I'll personally be far more excited for that than I was for the Club World Cup final we played the other year

English may not be Peter Krawietz's first language but is expert at answering questions in a presser and saying absolutely nothing. :)

Sounds like a lot mixing and matching in the team sheet for tomorrow.

There are always priorities but when your league chances take such a hit it surely creates a greater impetus to win the cups. The perceived downgrading of the status of FA Cup is directly related to the influence of money in the game but if you ask Reds of a certain generation winning the FA Cup was almost on a par with winning the league. It is a shame it is sometimes not seen in the context of the history it has. At any rate it's been almost 16 years since Stevie lashed in that thunderbolt v West Ham and that's too long for a club of our stature. I would love to see us at Wembley, hopefully a Merseyside final!

Where are these rumours actually coming from?

Am I right in saying their manager or chairman then came out and had a go at the club for playing that line up and costing Shrewsbury extra income or something compared to if we had played a stronger line up?
