I think lack of games is the issue, which is why id play him here

Maybe not the game to take unecesssry risks.
FA cup perhaps v Cardiff to get him up and running.

Games coming thick and fast again now, so plenty chances for Joe to get minutes, but he is now 4th choice CB.

Is this the 2nd time that Trent has covid?

Think it's been speculated that most of our "Covid positive" players were false positives, in fact I read that some clubs were wanting an investigation done because they were implying the club were basically lying about players that were actually positive. Who knows but I don't think Trent has Covid from as much as you can get from official sources.

Every time I've seen him he just reminds me of yard dogs of yesteryear like Mick Harford.

Wouldn't have messed with big Mick . Don't think Wood is like that just looks a big lump who fails to understand the offside rule . Probably go and storm it now

Newcastle will have to get used to that I am afraid every player they bid for will be min 10mill above at least what they are realistically worth

I would agree wholeheartedly but isn't he out of contract this summer? If so, whatever we can get is probably going to be a good deal. Other than letting go striker cover that we likely will need.

Club has the option to extend his contract. Whether that's through number of games (could be why he's mysteriously injured *just saying*) or whether that's through just being able to stick a year on the contract is what isn't known.

      Release clause it seems

Takes away one of Burnley’s main goal threads

But £25mil - that’s a genuis clause and mental that someone has paid it

That wasn't what happened here. They've paid his release clause so Burnley had no choice to accept or reject.

Apparently that is their strategy this window to look at players with release clauses.

Back to ourselves i really hope we go as strong as possible for this game. Could be our best shot at a trophy, we are out of the title picture and at this stage reasonably comfortable for a top 4 finish.

If we don't have a proper crack at this then we are playing the season with only the Champions League in mind.
