      The beer recommendation topic
      Jan 17, 2022 04:10:06 pm
Not to be confused with the what are you drinking thread, where people let each other know whats in the glass as they type......no this is a topic where the beer connoisseurs among us make recommendations to others on beers to try

Up to you if you want to just throw a name out or if you want to go all in with marks out of 10, describe its taste, appearance etc

To begin......I will recommend Augustiner brau largerbier hell.....A helles larger at 5.2% . To me yet to be topped as a great tasting beer, certainly among pale beer anyway. Its just heaven from the off. Mild enough in taste. Very easy to drink

Brewdog's Hazy Jane is an IPA about 5%.  It's nice enough that I don't even mind getting them in the 330ml sizes!

Being able to get Daura Damm for 60c on holidays put me off beer for a few years.
Have settled on the odd bottle of Peroni over the Christmas.

I think I recommended this next one before to you Brian and you weren't a fan but Lidl Perlenbacher Petronas is a great Weissbier at a real great price per bottle.

For me as good as the big name Weissbier.

I cant sup weissbeer. I like most of it but it seems to kick off my stomach so I dont bother

Some of the weissbeers are delish but for me its helles, pilsner Kolsch beers for the most part

Just to add the augustiner brewery have a 2nd helles, Edelstoff, also amazing. Slightly stronger at 5.7%abv. I think its the export version of the one I mentioned above but there is definitely a slight difference in taste

Highly rate these 2 beers. Probably give both 9 out of 10

If your near a decent off licence pal they should have it. To be honest even our shitty chain store off licences down here have started selling them. Look up some reviews on youtube by the way

Pricey but worth it in my opinion

61 Deep...That's the depth of the well at the brewery that makes this ale refreshing,it's a really nice thirst quencher for those summer afternoon's,it's only ABV 3.8 on keg and cask,4.1 in a bottle but try it for it's tropical fruit and citrus taste. Marstons 61 Deep.

Off the alcohol for a few weeks so I'm on the Guinness 0.0

Easily the best alcohol free alternative I've had.
