Luis Diaz Player Thread (F)

Like I have said in an earlier post, I have high hopes Luis will have a great season for the Reds. Having scored a couple he has made a very promising start already. Barring injury he should feature in many games for the team this season. Looks the type of player who would run through a brick wall, showing plenty of skill & determination.

At the end of the day we were spoilt really with Mane and his Relentless press and his numbers over the years he was here. Mane set the bar for the standards needed if you are going to challenge for the honors.

Diaz has to hit those numbers/near them and be consistent year in year out. Its been an encouraging start and hopefully it continues.

Is it me or he’s still not getting past players as easily as he was before his injury.

His second season and the link up play with Robbo on our left is still as if they are playing as strangers.

The left hand side could be as exciting as the right if he can get in tune with Robbo, would be amazing to see something similar to the unbelievable play that Robbo and Mane used to conjur up.

Still feeling his way back a little bit I think. Has scored a few though and is playing closer to the box this season too which makes it a little harder for him to beat players in the way he was before. It'll come i'm sure, just needs a good run injury free.

I do love Diaz but he really needs to have more influence on the game, he can be a superstar, just needs to go to the next level.

Mane set the bar very high. For me, outside of Saiah our most consistent attacker in terms of performances and numbers is Jota but he rarely gets a start. I'm biased though as Jota is my favourite player. He's class.

Diaz I feel needs to improve both numbers and consistency and have more influence in matches.

Agreed mate

Luis runs like a terrier for the first 45 minutes and always looks like  he's gonna huff and puff but just doesn't blow the door down.

Jota just gets in the right places at the right time and is deadly with his finishing.
