Again the weakest link was JAR, who has basically cracked and should be sold in January to save his own career, he is finding the pressure to perform way too much - he is a better player than that, but his own mind is his worst on enemy...

JAR - 4/10 - read comments above... actually felt for him, way below the rest of the team

I dont agree with you here. JAR had a good game.

Tell you what, we could have easily finished that game 8 or 9 nil today. I'm not happy!!!  :D

Seriously though, the chances we are creating and the positions the players are getting in is great to see. Even if Anelka would have scored that open goal to level it I still think we would have turned them over.
From the brief highlights I've seen, I can honestly say Torres is growing to be more of a frightful prospect for any opposition. You can see he's starting to play with more confidence and that he feels he's fitting in with the team. He's starting to express himself. And how much of a beautiful ball from Gerrard for his goal? Sublime! Gerrard is finding his passing to the top standard he has set himself in the past.
Was great to see Crouch causing problems for the defence again. If I was going to be really fussy, I'd say he should have scored that header. But it was quite a simple chance and he doesn't do things easy. With the exception of Torres, he's probably at this moment our most dangerous forward the way he affects the opposition' defence. Him and Torres are looking a very dangerous partnership and I only hope Kuyt and Voronin are going to excel themselves when they are picked.

Good to see Kewell get another decent run out. He's got a lot of rust to shift but slowly it's falling off the more he plays. He showed some nice vision and got himself into decent positions. Just wish he'd look a little bit more lively.
Babel once again looking far more dangerous when he's in front of goal rather than wide of it.

Was furious when I seen that foot down the shin by El Haj k**b head on Arbeloa. Should have been a red card - especially when you see what Robbie Keane got sent off for today. I'm glad Arbeloa wasn't injured from that. Another player who seems his name should be on the teamsheet every time.

All in all, it's great to see us creating so many chances and passing the ball well. That's what Liverpool is all about. If we can keep this momentum going, we're going to severely annoy the other top teams and certainly the majority of journalists!!

best performance so far this season outsanding

      Disregarding Besiktas? Even Derby?

      Piss poor mate.
Like you said, only really sang when we scored.
Think there were the usual trying there best to get the songs out, but it seemed nobody was interested.

Doesn't help (not an excuse), that Bolton's support was the worst so far at Anfield, but it seems we need BIG games to get the crowd going.
At least we are winning even with piss poor atmosphere.

The atmosphere was terrible, even worse when you're in the Anny Road end and no-one sings anyway! :-\ Bolton's fans were terrible, and they couldn't respond when everyone told them they're going down! 8)

It was a good performance, and we soaked up the pressure well! Good to see us dominating consistently now though! :)

Great game today, really happy especially as I got the 4-0 prediction right.

This is the 1st time in a long time that before the game I wasn't nervous. I knew we'd beat them and was confident of the scoreline I predicted but had a little reservations about what Anelka might do. When Carra and Pepe clashed and he was about to kick the ball, I closed my eyes and said FCUK...then heard the crowd reaction and just knew it was deffo gone be our day.

Loved that Torres goal, what a pass from Stevie G and a beautiful finish from Fernando. What a star we have here. I must admit I feel a whole lot more confident when Fernando and Ryan Babel are on the pitch. They don't have be on at the same time but as long as one of them is on the park...I feel like we are invincible. They are attacking and just create so much and you just know that they can score at anytime.

One last thing I want to mention is that I thought Lucas had a really good game, doesn't look overawed with the League, fits in nicely and can pass a ball...so well happy for him and I hope he gets more chances...can see him lining up against Reading with possibly Masch behind him, giving Stevie a well earned rest.  Oh yeah well done to Jack Hobbs as well, came on and when he did the JC punt long ball upfield he actually did it twice and hit his target twice...look out JC ;)

Go you REDS, bring on Marseilles and those Mancs.

Must admit Brian, it was bitterly cold and wet today.
Not an excuse, but maybe a reason for the poor atmosphere.

Don't we usually have a go at some 'foreign' stars who don't turn up in the cold and wet winter games?

Anyway good review - 4-0 is another solid result.  We're not messing about with some of these results in recent weeks.  Comprehensively defeating teams is superb.

Sure United will overtake us tomorrow - it's just Arsenal now.  We really need to see a chink in their armour.  It's typical that when we start looking like real challengers one of the other big four goes on and blitzes it.  I have a sneaky feeling we will get a points total this season that would have won us the league in a few of the last few years but Arsenal will just have that bit more.

In retrospect a draw against them at Anfield was a tidy result.

Also Hobbs was fantastic.  A real raw talent.  He was excellent against Cardiff and pleased with his Premiership debut.  Makes a change Carra getting a rest.

As for Bolton - will be happy to see them go down.  There are far better supported clubs, with more fanatical supporters, in the Championship.

Hey Court, that goal difference is looking pretty good now isn't it? +20, same as the arse, all these goals we are scoring is all going to help come the end of the season, might just make all the difference. ;)

Just thinking about what Tommo said about the atmosphere, I think it's a real shame whilst were playing such good footy and scoring lots of goals that the crowd aren't singing and getting behind the team more, I thought when I was listening to the match on the radio that it sounded quite good and I watched MOTD, all 12 minutes of it, and sky sports tonight, I know it's different when your actually there, but like Tommo said the conditions were dreadful today, and let's face it Bolton aren't a team to get too excited about are they?

Maybe Liverpool should say "You can only have a ticket if you promise to sing" CCTV is a wonderful invention, if you don't sing- then no ticket for the next game, and let someone who will sing their heart out have it instead......  like me ;D

Just one final note........Didn't John Aldridge look happy......a big beaming smile, now there's one ex-red who wouldn't be jeered off the pitch......Diouf should have been sent off for that tackle on AA....disgusting.

G'day Tommo mate, how's tricks? All good i hope?

One thing I wanted to ask about the game and I suppose anyone can answer this....It's about the booing of that w**ker El Hadji-Diouf. I know he's a pr**k and that he deserved everything given to him, especially after what he did to Arbeloa...but I thought we as LFC were bigger than that...we hated when those Newcastle 'fans' were doing it against our Stevie G (and I know it was for completely different reasons) but it just annoyed me that we were doing it. I suppose I'm just glad that Diouf didn't respond to the booing the same way our Stevie did.

The Booing of Diouf has become part of every Premiership game Bolton has been involved in.

Yeah, he isn't liked all that much Aussie mate. I think it's quite ironic that his name rhymes with the word boo though, don't you?
It certainly speaks volumes about any ex red coming back to Anfield and getting a bad reception though. And I have no doubt he wasn't all that bothered about being on the wrong side of a 4-0 score line today. When I was a steward he always seemed more concerned what he looked like before and after the game rather than what he done on the pitch. Used to make me feel sick.

Thanks kenny mate, so it's El Hadji Boo is it? :D ...never picked that up on the pitch mikes though.

You're right mate just looking at him makes me sick too...still trying to get over what he was thinking with studs up on Arbeloa and why he wasn't given a straight red? That would really have gone down well with the Anfield crowd.

kewell have a couple of shots on goal then aye? i dont wanna jinx his comeback but i cant help but get excited now hes playing good, i honestly think his woes are over (please if there is a higher power out there listening to this, please dont jinx me). not normally superstitious :f_tongueincheek: but you cant help but feel like it can ya?

I think part of the booing started with a bad habit he has/had. He use to spit on opponent players for real, then came the career-ending rough tackling, then the cheat tactics of diving and looking for cheap ref decisions. its unending.

yeh, i'm not sure about any other team being one of the "four" but yes our form recently is brilliant and it will be great if we can keep it up for the weeks to come, with Reading, Marseille and the Mancs. We have been playing posession Football for the first few minutes of the games, which is good because we aren't mucking it up anymore.

Another clinical display in front of goal, its almost as if we simply cannot be denied, an irresistable force if you will. I just had that feeling all along that sooner or later we would find our touch and the results would come. These string of superb results will only bolster confidence and add to the silver lining that now blinds every critic's view of Anfield...

Actually, when I said any other team, i was referring to the Scums (ManC, Ass-enal, ManU, Chelsea). We can take the game to them any day.

I dont agree with you here. JAR had a good game.

Defensively he was just about OK. Offensively and I've watched the game twice now...he did sweet F**k all. Waste after waste after waste... not good. Sorry have to repeat be it with his offensive-game qualification that JAR had a poor game. Maybe 4/10 was harsh - make it 6/10 - still below every other player in the team.

I have to say from the extended highlights I saw on Sky Riise looked poor, especially going forward as donrafa said. I actually put him in my predicted lineup this time, but for me he has proved time & time again that he's no longer Liverpool standard.
