Surprised by that sluggish1st half. Not one player really "played". It was all very strange.

2nd half obviously much better, but the front 3 were still struggling but it seems to me that the problem was the midfield. Very little going forward. Notably Diaz hardly seemed to have the ball (no idea what his stats were but that's how it appeared). Mane showed that he was ready to finish if given a good chance (albeit clearly offside). With Salah and Firmino waiting, I expected Jota and a midfielder to be replaced, then Jota goes and smashes in that goal with his first chance and effort! Klopp showed his resolve by subbing him anyway 

Despite the underperformance, we never really looked troubled except the ridiculous back pass from Thiago, and every time Martinelli ran at Trent!!

Watched the game in a London titty bar. There were distractions. Gave MotM to Thiago cos I remember him doing some animated celebration and I couldn't tell you F**k all else about the game besides the goals and that celebration.

The first half we just soaked up the pressure , we were never really troubled but only playing in 2nd gear - you could tell that Arsenal we’re giving it all and desperately needed a goal

But the better team stepped up a gear and got the goals and then just sat in and controlled the game

Goalkeeping was the difference when you look back. Alisson made the save when needed while Ramsdale (who has been playing good) got fooled (I think he believed that Jota was going across). Once the first goal happen it turned the tide and we seem to find our legs and saw it out.

It was not a tough game. Not only have they not scored against us this season, they have nothing to threaten us with either. Thiago's error was the only time we had something to worry about. It was very similiar to the Gerrard error that cost us the game there in 2006, but this time it didn't. So eventually we were going to get a chance, and when it came we took it. 2 of them. The result was never in doubt, we took advantage of our game in hand, and Jürgen won 100 away games for us. City could do nothing about it, except sit there and watch it. Let's hope they'll not be able to do much else about the title race either. The race for No. 20 is well on track going into the home straight.
