This. Diaz may end up playing if Jota isn't deemed ready. Apparently he picked up a knock.

Kyle Walker looks like he may be out, and KDB could be a question for them aswell. They had a much more grueling game, and very little rotation, unlike us. They also had the issue of having to travel, unlike us.

2-1 win to the future FA Cup champs from Merseyside

Walker a big loss for them with his pace and KDB obviously but we need to focus on us and coming out of the traps quicker this time.Team similar  to last week maybe Jota doubt.

Approach the game from the off like we did the 2nd half Sunday well win, in fact we should tear into them for the first 20 like its the last 20 and we need 2 to win.

Personally Id rest 2 or 3 to have them at max for utd on Tuesday.

There was enough rotation against Benfica. Full strength for me. Aside maybe from Kelleher in goal. He earned it.

The old tried and trusted three amigos up top, a solid astute and clever midfield and a back five any side in the world would love to have, not too bothered how City line up I just know we will win this game, we have Jota & Diaz to come on and tormented tiring legs on the hour probably for Bobby & Mane and we could see Naby lad on for Hendo soon after, or even before,

Bobby was brilliant Vs Benfica so heā€™s in for me and Iā€™m keeping the faith with Mo & Mane, those three just fit so perfectly and know each otherā€™s games inside out, this could go the whole way so freshest of legs from the hour mark will be a huge bonus, hence holding Jota & Diaz back.

Fab didnā€™t look himself v Benfica. Was he carrying an injury 🤷ā€ā™‚ļø Who knows. But if he was, would he be over it for tomorrow.
And as for the league cup final, think we need to wrap Tiago in cotton wool immediately, until ko .tomorrow 😬

Iā€™m not sure DeBruyne was injured to bad. Think he took a couple of digs and due to the nature of the game, pep thought heā€™d rather sacrifice Sterling if there was gonna be any serious hits !
      Only my opinion though.

Would go full strength tomorrow. Probably the same team which started on Sunday. Defence and midfield more or less picks itself, only real problem we have now (and it's a good problem at that) is who to play up front. Even Bobby and Sadio, who both looked like we were begging to phase out a few months ago, are now on fire and have scored some big goals of late. Only striker at the moment who hasn't really been on it during the last week's / months is Salah. But it's an absolute certainty that he'll be firing on all cylinders soon enough, so you'd be a brave man to leave him out. Tomorrow could very well be the day he reverts back to factory settings.

Think we will get a grip of this game much better than we did during Sunday's meeting, certainly in the early part. Hopefully De Bruyne & Walker aren't fit enough to feature which would be a huge bonus, there's also the bonus of it being at Wembley and Man City failing miserably to sell out their allocation. With us having far more supporters in the ground hopefully we're able to make it as intimidating as possible for them.

Can't wait for it tomorrow, coach leaves at 7AM. Just had an email off the provider saying it's strictly no alcohol and they'll be checking bags so I've just spent the last hour pouring two bottles of spiced rum into Capri Sun pouches to conceal them 😂

      Up the reds!

Winning tomorrow is important as this will put pressure on Citeh psychologically as far as the Premier League is concerned. Just don't want to give them the time to breathe.  Pep can't handle pressure and eventually will start to overthink.

Longshot, but here goes... Iā€™m a Scottish-based Red, occasional Anfield visitor these days. My in-laws live in London just up the road from Wembley, and my son -well heā€™s becoming a big Reds fan and turns 15 years old on 16th April! Iā€™ve tried a few avenues for tickets but to no avail yet.
Donā€™t suppose any LFC fans have two pals who canā€™t travel so might sell on tickets to two near-Wembley-based reds? If lady luck strikes I can collect near Wembley on Saturday!

After reading Pep's comments, I expect De Bruyne will play, and probably Walker too. Looks like Ruben Dias is in line for a return as well (he was an unused sub on Wednesday).

Personally I am hating the idea that we are going against City in every trophy - I know itā€™s exciting but the anxiety for me is massive of feeling like what am I gonna do if they prevent us cleaning up and we end up with just the league cup for all our efforts

So starting today, opportunity to tick one off the list and get into another final under JĆ¼rgen! Iā€™m greedy and want us to win as much as possible so when we look back on this era in future years we have a sh*t ton of trophies to look at to

Think he will hold Jota and Diaz back today. This game won't be won till late on but it could be lost early on if we don't keep it tight in the first 30 mins or so.

We need to press press press. especially the second or third ball they play out from the back. Pressing can induce an over hit pass and that's when we pounce.

      I'm going Mancheater 2 Liverpool 3.

Looking forward to this can't wait. I always think we are going to win but I think we will have a real performance today from Mo and Sadio .
Hope everyone who makes the awful journey has a day to remember and comes back with a sore throat.

I get the idea that we donā€™t worry about them, and just play our own game, but with the pacey sides, we do look open to the ball into the space behind the back four.
It gives me the jitters every game, I just wish we could lessen that risk a bit.
Also with the set up we expect today, I think as soon as we lose the ball anywhere on the pitch, Hendo has to get tight to DeBruyne. Canā€™t let a player of that quality roam around unattended.
Iā€™m confident weā€™ll win today, but those two issues give me the shits. Iā€™m sure it will be taken care of though !
2;0 to the mighty red men !

Just to add, after we win today, their title aspirations will go to sh*t as well. I expect them to end up with zero trophies this season !

Citeh had a tougher CL game than us and one less day to recover.
Athletico had them under the cosh for a lot of the 2nd half, and were physical.
KDB and Walker might be out, or might be Pep dicking around.
They had the better of the last game but hopefully we can push them more this time around.
Would be a big psychological win to go through, and another final.
Someone mentioned JĆ¼rgen looks a bit tired, and agree last couple of games thought he has.
But still doing the business !
      Games coming thick and fast.
      Looking forward to it.

I'm hoping after the last game, we know their strengths and weaknesses up close now. Correct our cover on their strengths, and attack their weaknesses, and we've got this done. Gotta press a lot harder for a lot longer. We always had them on the rack when we played heavy metal football. Lets remind them who we are !

Impossible to predict the outcome.  Just hope we perform a little closer to our top level.  First half against Man City last we showed them way too much respect.  Hope Salah, if picked, gets a little bit nearer the form he was showing in the first half of the season.

      Enjoy the game, reds!

Personally I am hating the idea that we are going against City in every trophy - I know itā€™s exciting but the anxiety for me is massive of feeling like what am I gonna do if they prevent us cleaning up and we end up with just the league cup for all our efforts.

      Come on reds!!!

That's because Citeh and Liverpool are light years ahead of the competition.

Approach the game from the off like we did the 2nd half Sunday well win, in fact we should tear into them for the first 20 like its the last 20 and we need 2 to win.

Personally Id rest 2 or 3 to have them at max for utd on Tuesday.

                      Ali
      Joe VVD Konate Tsimikas

               Fab Thiago  Elliott

             Diaz   Bobby  Mane

No chance of that line up. Thereā€™s a reason Trent, Robbo and Salah were rested midweek and it wasnā€™t to start todays game on the bench too.

I think JĆ¼rgen and the boys have earned every bit of our total support. I am so confident in our boys because they have been there before and at this level now they know how to get the job done.
This doesnt mean to say they will not make us sweat for the win its how we do things.
