Their goalie was their best player. 3 or 4 decent saves to keep them in the game. Mane should have scored at least 1 of his chances, probably should have won 2 or 3 nil but we always looked comfortable.

Tuesday should give us the opportunity to rest another 2 or 3. Maybe Taki, Origi, Elliot or Jones can get 60 min. Maybe use all 5 subs. Then full strength for Spurs.

I have scarfes and hats as well as my 2005 Fez placed around my TV for games a new set up in the last couple of months since the Carabo Cup final and its proved to be winning change. Going to leave it in place for the City Leeds game to see if it can f**k up City.

Yeah, I've got a statue of Sir Bill and one of Sir Bob but Sir Bob looks more like Reg Varney...I've got Laurel & Hardy on the other shelve just in case it goes tits up.

Milner = MOTM. I wanna see this dude more often. He can rest for good once retired. Brings really hardcore pressure and tackling, better even than Hendo's, as good as Fab's but Fab plays more defensively.

Deffo offer him another 2 years but he'll be in demand and might want to try his hand at player manager. I mean to be fair to the others his workload this season has been very light so he had plenty of energy today.

If someone deserves all of this, it has to be JĆ¼rgen (and us supporters of course).
Imagine building a good team and losing those players to Bayern on a regular basis, then fighting a relegation battle and losing his esteem with the fans and their goalie having to calm then down etc.. Liverpool was made for him and he was made for Liverpool.

Just let it happen especially when we lost the league by a point and 10cms a few seasons ago. We are owed one.

Such an existing time and a nervous time as well!

Great team performance, really calm and assured. Newcastle never really troubled us and they've been in great form recently.
We had the chances to score a few more too.

Solid. Really upbeat the players' celebrations after this one. Such an atmosphere among this team.

Over to you City. Don't choke on it.

Didnā€™t finish work early enough to see any of that. Glad of the 3 points, and canā€™t wait for motd.

Come on Leeds 💪 might watch that one 😊

Yes, but he was ready. That is the spirit: not be your main guy but not sniffed, instead buzzing.

Thought the scoreline was flattering to Newcastle. We controlled the game very well and with better finishing would of been easy 4-0 win but either way we got the result, no one got hurt and we manage to give some key players a rest in the process. All in all couldn't ask for much better.

Massive three points that in what was a bit of a banana skin of a game especially with the early kick off, so well done boys and Naby with a crafty Salah like goal, fantastic support from the travelling REDS as well today up in the gods, you could hear them all game outsinging the geordies.

Good all round team performance with quite a few changes, but the standards don't drop, which is great  to see from the lads, and what a bench to choose from for JĆ¼rgen.....BOOM !!!!

Did what we had to, I actually had this down as our trickiest remaining fixture so pretty happy with the win.

      Spurs for me.

Did anyone else get flashbacks of when Jota missed from a similar situation against Wolves to what Keita had today? The relief when it hit the net!!

Could only judge by what I saw on the edited version on motd. Think Ali made 1 save. Everything else they offered was off side.
We were so disciplined and professional we were cruising.
Could and should have been at least 0:3
Motm on this evidence I went for Keita.
Starting to look like the player we bought.

Match of the Day, as usual, tried to make the game look in the balance when it was anything but. Funny how they didnā€™t include the chance from Diaz yet managed to include at least 2 ā€œchancesā€ for them which were called offside as well as a speculative shot that was comfortably held by Alisson.

We had 24 shots to their 4, 10 on target to their 2, 6 corners to their 0 and yet MOTD manages to show a closely contested game. Only thing close about that game was the score.

Every chance we will get to 46 at least.
How many have City won this season, any idea? It would be typical for us to break records and City to do it in the same season.

Not sure, when did they exit the cups? they have won 1 more league game than us.
