      Club Statement Re: Hillsborough chants
      Apr 21, 2022 10:11:00 pm
Liverpool FC is saddened by the recent rise in vile chants about the Hillsborough disaster.

We know the impact these abhorrent slurs have on the families of the 97, those who survived, and all associated with this club.

We are working with the relevant authorities to do our utmost to ensure these chants are eradicated from football altogether and, where appropriate, bring the full force of the law and the game’s sanction process down on those who continue to sing them.

I cannot and will never understand what possesses any human being to mock or ridicule the loss of another human life (unless of course it is a traitor or a paedophile), especially those of great human beings.

There is only one way to eliminate this behaviour but that is now banned in this country. The problem with the law is that is does not deter as the punishment is too weak.

Slap on the wrist, they will keep doing it.

Prison term, may make offender think about doing it again.

Hang by the neck until dead, problem solved.

Chants about Hillsborough are vile alright, but hanging the perpetrators seems a tad over the top.

Cameras can identify the lowlifes. Ban them from all grounds and nullify any season tickets they may have.
Same goes for our fans ref the Munich air crash, but have to say, haven’t heard anything of that got probably 35/40 years.
Cameras on all gates with retina recognition data.
Easily picks out the offenders before entry to grounds.

Pretty much spot on. What’s so annoying is the perpetrators can easily be spotted with technology and experts lip reading yet all you get from any club is that we condone all forms of racist/chants blar blar blar and say they will be banned for life but do fcuk all about it. Same old sh*te with the corporates.

Personally I think the best way to punish them is name and shame them in the public eye/ social media.  this has a extremely damaging effect on them and also quite often lose their jobs because companies obviously don’t like the publicity.
