Liverpool FC can confirm Fabio Carvalho will join the club this summer.

The 19-year-old forward will officially complete a switch to the Reds on July 1.

Carvalho played a key role in Fulham’s promotion back to the Premier League in 2021-22, scoring 10 goals and providing eight assists in 36 games as Marco Silva’s side won the Championship title.

He had featured for the Cottagers in the top flight on four occasions in the previous season, marking his first Premier League start with a goal away at Southampton in May 2021.

An exciting talent born in the Lisbon region of Portugal, Carvalho made his debut for Portugal U21s in March of this year having previously represented England at youth level.

Carvalho came through the academy ranks at Fulham and went on to make 44 senior appearances in total for the London club.

Interesting then Elliott would be a player I'd like to see loaned out though. In a similar way to Connor Gallagher at Palace I'd love to see him shine with first team football.

It'll be 7 trophies next season. When we beat Real we'll have the European super cup and club world to add to the 4 main competitions. Also got to play City in the charity shield.
We'll need a very good squad, plenty of games for everyone.The world cup also adds an interesting twist to the season. I've not looked in detail but I think quite a lot of our players will get a rest for that month. We have a lot who don't start international games or didn't qualify.

I really like what they said about his parents. Their education should help keep him grounded.

Bound to. Mo will probably be off next season, so Fabio will be given chances to show what he can do this season, plus getting to know our system etc.

He has gone under the radar a bit with Darwin ,Sadio and now Mo but this lad could be something special along with Harvey.

in his first interview with LFCTV, Carvalho himself has detailed the two positions he is most comfortable in.

“Obviously at Fulham, I played in more of the 10 role,” he explained.

“Here it just depends on what formation that we play.

“But I also fancy the wing, because I’m creative enough to go one vs. one and create things.

“Like you said, I’m more than comfortable playing anywhere, but those two positions are where I want to play.”

Only one thing is the physicality, I actually think the championship is more physical than the premier league.

I think he will play a limited role this season. He will get some first team action, but there is still a lot of developing to be done.

Yeah feel like we’ve got something special on our hands with him. Really sharp and full of confidence so far and he’ll just keep getting better.

I watch a lot of the Championship, and last year my oldest was big into watching the Fulham games, as they had Wilson and Williams.

He's the real deal dude, and I think your dad is spot on. He's really versatile and can play all the attacking positions. Him and Elliot together is going to be amazing.

If Bobby is still injured Fabio and Elliot are going to get the opportunity to show us what they can do. I think both have lots of potential.

I prefer Elliott to start and Fabio coming for him as a sub. Harvey's link up play with Salah makes him a better option.

Jürgen seems to get the introduction of players right most times just look at Andy  and Trent. These lads are still growing and could have 15 years in the game they couldnt have a better manager than Jürgen

Think it’s going to be a learning year for him , the same as Elliot , some subs appearances , starting cup games , starting the odd Prem match , just letting him develop - Klopp always seems the manage the young players well

He just seems like he's going to be a boss player, there is something about him, it's not because he got that goal today. I like watching this player and get excited when I know he's playing.

Lovely goal from Fabio today and the first of many I'm sure, took it very well and could do no wrong today, made up for him, what a career he has ahead of him.

Jürgen Klopp explains Fabio Carvalho absence and admits Liverpool youngster 'not in a happy place'

Jürgen Klopp has explained the absence of Fabio Carvalho from the Liverpool squad - but is adamant the youngster has done "nothing wrong" as he goes through a necessary difficult period in his fledgling career.

With Diogo Jota, Virgil van Dijk and Roberto Firmino back available from injury, Carvalho was among a number of senior players absent from the bench for the 2-0 home derby triumph against Everton on Monday.

The 20-year-old is likely to again miss out when Liverpool travel to Newcastle United on Saturday evening, despite having scored a dramatic injury-time winner in the Anfield meeting between the teams back in August.

Carvalho has featured for only three minutes in the Premier League since the defeat at Nottingham Forest in October and has started only eight times since his summer move from Fulham.

And while accepting the youngster will be unhappy at his lack of action, Klopp is convinced the attacking midfielder remains on the right track.

"Fabio is a very young player and a big talent," said the Reds boss. "He has played well for us in a couple of games. Now the situation is we have to make a squad and he couldn't make the last one. That's how it is.

"He hasn't played too often because from my point of view we needed different skills when we started or when we changed during the games. That's pretty much all.

"He did nothing wrong. He has improved a lot and developed a lot. He is a good kid and is in the middle of the group and the team and that's all fine."

Klopp added: "Obviously, he's not in a happy place at the moment. You cannot see that on the pitch or when I see him. It's not really obvious, but I can imagine because he's a footballer he wants to play, and he didn't play often enough.

"That cannot help a lot but that's another thing in a long career that you have to go through. For me it looks in the moment that he takes it as good as is possible."

Wouldn't surprise me to be honest. Our transfer business in recent years isn't great and last summer was awful.

I'd send him out on loan ... in fact he should have been left at Fulham this season. He'd be a much better player for it. I wonder if something has happened.

Our transfer strategy has collapsed. The people behind it have all gone bar ward who is leaving in a few weeks.

If we are as bad as we currently are come the end of August the blame will only go in one direction sadly.

He’s been tried on the the left wing in a similar role to Coutinho but despite a couple of similarities to Phil (haircut and dribbling) he seems like more of a Frank Lampard type of player who arrives from deep to finish off chances. His best position is as a #10 but we don’t play with one and I think he’s not the best fit for the wing or as a #8 at this stage in his career. He’s too lightweight for the midfield three.

Yes ... he's one that can be used to cobble together some spends this summer. What a sad state of affairs.

If selling in 2024 is the plan may as well loan him back to Fulham next season.

I would not sell but Klopp has no plan for him. Best option is to loan him. He will become like Grujic, decent player but not for us.

Agree. Being in the Europa league is generally crap but it should give players like Fabio more opportunities to show Klopp and us that they have a future at LFC.
