While I agree with your reasons as to why FSG would be hesitant in giving them new deals due to their age, they’re both still world class players and probably will be in a few years time so it’s worth the risk in my eyes.

I can see both being offered 2 year extensions- that takes them to 35 and 36 respectively and also gives us time to bring in replacements

I think both will be offered contracts but I’m less confident both will sign. I think Mo will but I expect Virg to head off next summer.

I'm confident there is nothing sinister going on with the board regards new contracts.

It's just down to what the had deemed priorities after klopp left.

1. New manager
2. New director of football
3. New manager staff
4. Transfer window, sales, buys and loans

Now all that is done and dust is settled they will move onto contract extensions.

The indications are positive mate with good and questionable sources all in agreement that Mo wants a new contract and it is in the offing, one highly questionable bullshit merchant suggests Salah, Van Dyke and others have already got plane tickets!

When his current contract was being negotiated there was a lot of public stuff from his agent. I think it's just how Mo and/or his advisers handle negotiations.

I fairly confident that he will agree an extension but that's possibly unfounded optimism

Enjoyed watching Mo Salah's superb goal last night, to seal victory against Bologna, it was really a great strike.

What a brilliant goal this guy is going to be remembered for generations to come.  49 Champions League goals and still counting from the right hand side, wow just wow.

I just don't understand why this contract situation hasn't been sorted at this point. Maybe Mo is being unreasonable and asking for a King's ransom.....but He just continues to perform and you can never take him out because even if he's been poor for most of the game, the chance is still there that he'll produce something special.

He's scored 4 goals and 4 assists in the 6 league games, 1 goal and 1 assist in 2 champions league games.  What do we expect he is human.

Was a sublime strike and a wonderful assist but his decision making in the final third, the rest of the time, was way off.

He could have had about 5 assists I reckon had he played the right ball.

Frustrating at times but he is Our Mo.
