Thought you said he was world class? Why would you bench him?

Because Jota has a better conversion rate?

Ignore that wind up merchant. He’s on ignore for me and it’s been amazing - it’s a shame he still shows up on quote replies though.

Think most strikers have a better conversion rate than Nunez at the moment mate. 😂 Always like Jota apart from playing for you lot. 😂  What’s the word for tomorrow? Any chance he plays?

His defence force will come out all guns blazing but he was a big money striker who cannot finish

It’s a shame, you can’t do anything but love his personality as he is a fighter but he is not good enough to be a Liverpool player

Simple as that, cannot be relied upon to score goals as all he can do is run like a bull dog

      It’s a shame

Big reset needed next season but he should still survive but don’t see him here for long with the new manager

Been subbed twice in a row now in games we were losing.

Think that just about sums it up for him right now.

      Make that three.

Don't really blame him for missing that chance today, in truth was not a bad effort. But he's off form in general and low on confidence. Would have much rather see him come on with 20 minutes to go if we were getting desperate than see him go off having struggled again as a starter. He was better early in the season as an impact sub, and that role is the best chance he has of getting his confidence back quickly.

The irony is if Endo, Salah, Jota or Jones had the conviction of either Diaz's or Nunez's chance we get a point from the game.

The problem with Darwin is he's made himself an easy target with the build up of chances he doesn't convert due to either woeful finishing or bad luck and we're now almost 2 seasons in, the chance he had today kinda falls somewhere in the middle.....the ball broke kindly for him in a crowded area he didn't have time to do anything other than lashing at it.

I still 100% stick by him because that's what it means to support a team.....backing the players and manager that play for the shirt. If there was no encouragement you could see in a player then ok, you get on their backs and probably pull the trigger.

Shouldn't have started today, has been poor for some weeks now. Poor decision making, passing, finishing. Can't see how he could start next game.

Then end of season, need to decide whether to stick or twist. Though it also depends who is available, whether Mo stays or goes etc

Some big decisions need to be made for sure as Edwards needs to fix our attack to what it used to be

We’ve been not been buying players that can do what counts the most, put the ball in the back of the net

If.Jota fully fit probably wouldn't but you could easily argue neither should the other two if you are basing on what you have

When you have to sale me on what a dude does with stats and basically to tell me to ignore what I see on a weekly basis, I'm out. Nunez is a physical monster with pace and energy. He has a flare for the wild finish and his HL reel is top notch. He's helped us win some big games during his time here. He also struggles putting the ball in the back of the net, and as good as his finished have been, his HL reel of misses may be worse. If we had a team dull clinicians, I'd say he'd be a nice change of pace. But we don't, and what we need is a striker whose cut throat in front of goal.

Time will tell where he ends up, all depends on Edwards and the new manager.

I'd go with Jota and Gakpo for a few.

Gakpo is just as bad. Poor Danns filled in and looked the best bet, he was hungry and scored a few, soon as Nunez returns to the team Danns is dropped and we now can't score.

not sure what the answer is but it is NOT Nunez or Gakpo

Kids just turned 18, he only came into the side because Mo, Darwin and Jota were all injured. We were NEVER going to count on him or put pressure on him to lead us when we were in the middle of a title charge, far too much to ask....could he have possibly had a few more late sub appearances? Sure. Would it have really changed the complexion to where we are? Doubt it.

We don't really have much choice than to go with what we have until the summer, Gakpo in for Mo has to be 1 based on form. Probably Jota for Nunez as well.

There is definitely a player in him but he is still far too erratic to be relied on as a number one CF.

The unpredictablity and chaos he brings is great but missing chance ls galore will wear thin if it continues into next season

Who knows...maybe under a different manager he'll be the player everyone is wishing he would be. Still...his goal and assist return and his workrate are good enough for me right now. Yes it would be great if he'd put away a few more of these "easy" chances but I can't help but think he's always going to be a streaky type of player.
