Premier League 2022-23 fixtures: LFC to open away at Fulham
      Jun 15, 2022 07:48:16 pm
Next season fixtures are to be published tomorrow morning at 09:00 BST.

Going to be interesting with a big gap for the World Cup in the middle of it, plus then the TV companies will chop it to bits.

So who do we want for our 1st game of next season?

It's a lottery, doesn't matter what we want. Just hoping for a kind last 6 and usually a kind Crimbo. Except the last doesn't apply - I don't know when the fixture congestion is at its most intense now?

City away. Because wtf not??? Let VVD and Konate ruin Haalands confidence early and give him a rood awaking for his premier league debut.

Won't be one of the big clubs. Wouldn't be surprised to get a promoted club like  Forest, Bournemouth or Fulham, and probably away.

I hope not, they are tricky fixtures where the players and crowd are really up for it with opening game energy and enthusiasm.

I always like the idea of home game first but prediction will be Wolves away.

Also read they are going to scrap the games between Boxing day and New years days to help out with congestion after the World Cup.

Fulham as a starter. Not bad, prefer that rather than a softish home game. Got to hit the ground running. Obviously the World cup could screw up the season.

I definitely feel ya bro, but at the same time, it's the only time some of of our boys will get true and deserved rest. Mo and Robbo have been run into the ground since getting here, and their national teams never do us any favors with them. Along with those two, Diaz, Matip, Mily, Tsimikas, Jones, and some of the kids can get a real rest.

Other than VVD, Nunez, Ali, Fab and Jota, no one else comes to mind as heavily used squad players atm for their countries. Sure Hendo, TAA, and Bobby are on squads, but usually get passed over by their managers. I forsee the England boys playing sub roles in most matches, although if Southgate is smart he will go with Trent. Fab could be a nailed down starter too, but his manager is a full and over looks him far too often.

I kind of love it. City have a sh*t ton of boys who will get run into the ground, then have a tough stretch when they come back. Look at the positives.

What a fantastic start to the new season, first 18 points in the bag already, can’t honestly see any of those first six taking any points off us, by then of course a momentum will have been built, it’s good set of fixtures for us to exploit and I only see us going from strength to strength, we will miss Sadio of course but when one door closes another will open and I see Diaz & Nunez being the main beneficiary’s of Mane departure, too many cooks do indeed spoilt the broth, we simply could not have six forward players juggling for playing time, something had to give,

Be interesting to see what system Jürgen uses now that he has a bona fide target man in Nunez, will he revert back to a 4-3-2-1 or adopt a completely different approach? I think he will tweak without too much disruption, and keep the tried and trusted gegenpress style we’re all so familiar with, hoping we see more of Elliot and Kaide Gordon, the new lad Carvalho not so much, it’s more of a bedding in season for him, Fabinho & Thiago for me with one other of Hendo, Elliot, Naby, Bobby are our go to midfield, with Jimmy as the back up in several positions,

Like Carvalho it’s a bedding in season for young Calvin Ramsey, maybe he’s was  brought in to give Trent competition but we can’t forget Connor Bradley either, maybe he’s being loaned out, dunno ?

Don’t think our spending is done yet, we need quality back up in midfield and I see us doing business for this area, Bellingham would be ideal but I guess we’ll just have to wait.

Roll on August FFs f***in bored shitless !!

I see you’re a lover of Bellingham Billy. I just don’t see him being a great improvement on what we’ve got.
Not sure what the answer is, we certainly need to improve in there, but top draw bossing play makers not likely to be available.

their new boy hasnt played in our league and there are plenty of Stars who came here and left without the same success Shevshenko comes to mind or was it Crespo who also failed so just wait and see how he does against the likes of the Dogs of War team like Everton. Being underdogs suits us just fine and we need to take points of them home and away and if teams attack them it can be done so many just sat back and accepted defeat before a ball was kicked

I know mate but if they can score 90 goals with a false No 9 god knows what it will be like when Haaland knocks  a few in. Hell score over 20 in his first season for sure.

I know mate but if they can score 90 goals with a false No 9 god knows what it will be like when he knocks  a few in. Hell score over 20 in his first season for sure.

the goals he scores will not be in addition to the 90 they can only put 11 players on the pitch and if you start of with a defeatist attitude its going to be a long season I very much doubt Ferguson would start the season thinking he couldn't beat City.

Sad as it may sound Walt I’m backing the cnuts to score over 100 goals when I see the prices for it. Hoping it’s at least 3/1  ;D

why bother turning up if you feel you are beaten before a ball is kicked what sort of attitude is that and how far expectations have fallen for a once successful club.
I fully expect us to win every game and start every game with this attitude I know Jürgen has this attitude if Den haag hasnt he will fail.

Well I’d be delusional if I said we could win the league or even finish in top two next year. I’m a realist not a fantasist.

      Quote from FATKOPITE10
Biggest issue for me is the ridiculous 6 week interruption

It's not as big an issue, as having the AFCON in January, which affects us more than other clubs.

For the fourth year in a row, we got the winner of the Championship, as our first game. It seems to be a tradition nowadays. So I'm sure Mo will fancy adding to his records on the opening day. But one tradition is that we are away in the last game when rebuilding our home so that it's ready for the following season. It's a trek to Southampton but it could have been worse I suppose.

Getting the trips to the biggest away games out of the way early is great, should we win them. If we don't, we're going to lose ground in the race early on. Maybe not 14 points but enough for people to write us off again by the end of September. This time we want to stay in the race all year round.

One thing that gets to me is all the kos announced as, Saturday at 3pm. At least 30 of our games are going to have their ko time changed, 36 kos were changed 2 seasons ago. Everyone knows that we're not playing City at 3pm on a Saturday or the other big games. That's before you consider the likelihood of cup date postponements for league games such as Fulham at home in mid March or for League Cup Finals etc, so why lie? Just state a general window for games to be played e.g. 26/27/28 December v Villa (a), until the ko time is confirmed.
