2005 final highlights: Milan vs Liverpool
The final will take place at the Atatürk Olympic Stadium in Istanbul, home of the Turkish national team. The venue famously hosted the 2005 decider, when Liverpool recovered from 3-0 down to beat AC Milan in the 'Miracle of Istanbul'.

Istanbul was initially selected to host the 2020 final, but this was moved to Lisbon due to the COVID-19 pandemic. Consequently, the 2021 showpiece was due to take place in Istanbul, only for this also to be relocated – to Porto – to allow fans of each team to attend.

Naby is not in the squad. I think he is done as a Liverpool player.

Agreed! What happened prior to before the game  has meant I haven't really got that bothered about the result.

and as UEFA say "nothing to see here"..... not much from the club or the Liverpool MP's etc it was a full on assault by French Police on both sets of supporters but mainly due to prejudged assertions that Liverpool fans are scum. Nothing will come of it we have had more than 30 years of knowing how these things pan out

Appologies for any offence taken...it was intended as a light hearted post that I now can see in retrospect could be perceived as insensitive to the real suffering many supporters witnessed that evening.

Sevilla are nothing like the team they were a few years ago, they're very much mid table La Liga standard now so wouldn't say that City look unstoppable to be honest, they could very easily have lost to Newcastle if Newcastle didn't try and all out attack at 3-1 up. Then they have been saved on 2 occassions from the officials - first one being against Palace when Palace had a 3rd goal stupidly ruled out for what would have been 3-0 and then against Villa, the whistle went for an incorrect offside call, a second before Coutinho put one in the net for what would have put them 2-1 up. For all the tap ins Haaland is getting, they look very shaky at the back and still dropping points in games that they really shouldn't be. Maybe teams are finally learning that if you have a proper go at their defence, you can get goals and make life difficult for them.

They do look shaky at the back KK. Problem is there more than making up for it at the front. As we both know as long as you score more than you concede your on a winner.

Celtic gave that Jammy bunch a decent game last night, just never took the chances 1st half.

I expect them to tighten up in defence when Laporte is back. Dias got a lot of plaudits in his first season but has been average since then really - often at fault for a goal. Laporte is by far their best  and most consistent CB IMO.

Yeah remember when Laporte was injured last time, they suffered badly. I know they bought a defender just before window closed but don’t know if he’s any good.
