Really should have started this before today. First Q-Final is on now, England vs Spain.

I have watched a number of the games, and I must say the quality of play has improved a lot.

So here is the Draw for the Q-F

Great goal, but it's also one that highlights my main criticism of women's football: the goalkeeping standards are not good enough. Not that they're not talented, but the height deficit between men and women is painfully obvious.

TBF, there has been some good saves in the group games.
But you can't compare EPL games to this level, saying that this is entertaining, and no one is rolling around as if they have been shot.

No idea what you're talking about... We NEVER see that in the men's games. 

But on a serious note, you're absolutely right. There is a much better sportsmanship in the women's games (dare I say sportswomanship?  ).

Actually enjoyed the 8-0 ,game against Norway, pass and move, pressing and really good build up play. A whole lot better than the turgid sh*te the male bottle jobs put on.

Spain actually looked a decent outfit. Agree with what you say about the keepers though.

Germany vs Austria on now, looks to be another good game, underdogs Austria so far looks to be on top.

Disastrous for Austria. Both teams could have scored before this.

Just catching up with Sweden vs Belgium, still 0-0, but looking at the stats, Belgium should be covered in bread crumbs.

Sweden score in the last minute, 1-0, 32 attempts.

Cruel for Belgium to concede at the last minute, but it's a 100% deserved win for Sweden.

To be fair, most of the girls in the Belgian squad are not even professional players, so reaching the quarter-finals was already historic for our country.

Last QF, France vs Netherlands, France seem to be the better side & just had 2 goal bound shots cleared off the line(ish).
Another good crowd.

I know we're desperate for the old routine back, but women's football doesn't really cut it, to be fair.

Cricket scores are common at that level. England won a game 20-0 a few months ago. They've already won a game in this tournament 8-0, another 5-0, while Italy were 5-0 down at half time in another game. I notice that there are no nations from Eastern Europe at the tournament at all, which I think says a lot about the standard. Plus, the final clashes with the Charity Shield, and it's taken priority over it as well.

I know the media instruct us to treat womens cup matches as seriously as we do the mens, but it's a hard sell tbh.

Not interested. Sky sports news is shoving it down our throats no matter what though.
