      F.A. Cup 2022/2023
      Aug 02, 2022 04:38:01 pm
Thought I'd start this thread early: Last season was a joy for us, lets how we can repeat it.

So the long road to Wembley starts on Friday 5th August. Preliminary rounds first.

City are favourites with the bookies/betters, we're second.

He’s concentrating what goes on on the pitch now and not what goes on off it which should always be the case.

It’s not cocky, it’s  just a bit of confidence. United currently playing like a top 4 side. I’d of took that anytime before a ball was kicked pre season. Still miles away from matching the noisy neighbours so can never be cocky.

Anyway you should be happy, that might be the nail in fat franks coffin.  :lmao:

Who said I want the final nail in Frank's coffin. Tbh if they were gonna sack him it would of been after Wolves or Brighton not an unlucky cup tie they could of drew 2-2.

Hoping that would be relegation in all honesty!!

Chelsea as poor as us but at least they've got the excuse of a new manager coming in.

Chelsea have spent hundreds of millions on players and they are still poor.

We are currently playing badly but it's reasonable to assume that there will be some investment in the squad, although not the amount Chelsea have been spending.

Stevenage just knocked Villa out with 2 late goals, well done to them. There haven't been many cup upsets so far but that's a big one.

I think the FA Cup is sadly on its last legs, I'm not sure anyone's overly motivated to win it. It feels like it's become a bit of a distraction.

Once you get to the quarters I find it interesting. Before that I’m not fussed

I think like that when it’s the Europa league and Micky mouse cup but not the FA Cup. I love the format/tradition of it.

I used to. But once teams started resting players in the early rounds like they do the league cup it lessened the notion of a giant killing.

That’s true but I try to block it out coz it’s the FA Cup.

It did....Winning anything feels great, and I dare say jaunting about Wembley with the Cup brings out a heightened sense of nostalgia of when it was "the" football event of the year. conversely had we not won it I don't think there would have been too much angst.
The semi victory, and manner of it stood out, due to the rank of the opponent.....But I can't remember being overly fussed before that if I'm honest.

Don’t know if to laugh or cry. Laugh coz we made another domestic final or cry when the noisy neighbours beat us in the final. 🤦‍♂️

However!!!! It’s been an enjoyable ride this season when you make comparisons over the last 5/6 years.

Not that anyone gives a sh!te………. Right?   ;D

Laugh now and then cry the next time you are at Wembley is my strong suspicion 🤔
