      F.A. Cup 2022/2023
      Aug 02, 2022 04:38:01 pm
Thought I'd start this thread early: Last season was a joy for us, lets how we can repeat it.

So the long road to Wembley starts on Friday 5th August. Preliminary rounds first.

City are favourites with the bookies/betters, we're second.

He’s concentrating what goes on on the pitch now and not what goes on off it which should always be the case.

It’s not cocky, it’s  just a bit of confidence. United currently playing like a top 4 side. I’d of took that anytime before a ball was kicked pre season. Still miles away from matching the noisy neighbours so can never be cocky.

Anyway you should be happy, that might be the nail in fat franks coffin.  :lmao:

Who said I want the final nail in Frank's coffin. Tbh if they were gonna sack him it would of been after Wolves or Brighton not an unlucky cup tie they could of drew 2-2.

Hoping that would be relegation in all honesty!!

Chelsea have spent hundreds of millions on players and they are still poor.

We are currently playing badly but it's reasonable to assume that there will be some investment in the squad, although not the amount Chelsea have been spending.

Stevenage just knocked Villa out with 2 late goals, well done to them. There haven't been many cup upsets so far but that's a big one.

I think the FA Cup is sadly on its last legs, I'm not sure anyone's overly motivated to win it. It feels like it's become a bit of a distraction.

I think like that when it’s the Europa league and Micky mouse cup but not the FA Cup. I love the format/tradition of it.

I used to. But once teams started resting players in the early rounds like they do the league cup it lessened the notion of a giant killing.

It did....Winning anything feels great, and I dare say jaunting about Wembley with the Cup brings out a heightened sense of nostalgia of when it was "the" football event of the year. conversely had we not won it I don't think there would have been too much angst.
The semi victory, and manner of it stood out, due to the rank of the opponent.....But I can't remember being overly fussed before that if I'm honest.

Honestly, and I hate I’m saying this as much as I hate them, but Id prefer United humble City… I hate United, but within that hate there is respect, whereas with City, when it comes to us not being involved, I feel nothing, I just feel indifference, and I’d hate for a team like that, with no soul, to go and do the treble, because I have no hope Inter will beat them in the CL. Would really cement football as a dying sport.

I think it’s the better of two evils, as sickening as that is.

Not for me. Will take them level on major trophies won. Nothing city wins counts ... they're cheats so they can win all they wany as far as I'm concerned. None of it matters.

I don't want United to win out of respect. They're true rivals unlike the cheats.

Football is dead anyway. It died long ago so no worry on that score

I’m not a goalie, but did DeGea have a chance at that?
Slow motion always tells a different story. Or was that shot in the net by the time it came of the volley?

Gundogen, a 30plus year old doing the business week in week out. He won them the title against villa as a sub in mere minutes.

Us, players in their 20s or 30 , half arsing about like old men ... looking gassed after 2 minutes and contributing nothing. Guaranteed long term immunity from being f*ucked off.

Gundogen is the kind of midfield player we are crying out for. Pure quality all round player. And if he wasn't doing the business he'd be sold ... not kept on robbing a wage for 3 years contributing the square root of nothing and then leave on a free.

For a club with not alot of money to spare, we don't half p*ss a load of it against the wall on a weekly basis.

I don't think so, brilliant goal after 13 sec, sun in his eyes, may be blame the defence.

Not been watching but just saw clip of the opener. Great FA Cup Final goal from Gundogan.  Quality player.

Anyway hope they both lose in the second half. 😂

      Genuinely not arsed who wins.

Don’t tell me you’re surprised Baz? Isn’t it the norm this year with this new handball rule? It was 100% a penalty under the new rules. Don’t agree with the rule like so many of us fans and it’s very frustrating to watch. I’d say we got away one normally but we didn’t, sadly it’s a rule.

Gundogan seems to specialise in goals from that sort of position. Did well to adjust but you have to question the defending and the goalie.

Horrible this but I prefer Utd to win this than City the treble.

      But United won't, of course

You really are a barrel of laughs aren't you ?

He just won them a trophy. He'd have been fu*ked off at Liverpool at 30 ... like gini and firmino. They'd have gone against the manager.

Make of it whatever you want. Liverpool is a creche for injury prone underachieving players ... that's the top and bottom of it. And the players who should be f*cked off this summer will still be there drawing a wage and contributing f*ck all next season apart from being injured. I just tell it like it is. Sorry its not a barrel of laughs ... its just the truth. But hey a couple of mids we will be world beaters again eh. Yeah.

I thought Young Sancho did an excellent impersonation of Dele Alli.
