Conor Bradley - Player Thread (D)

Couldn't find a thread for the young lad despite the odd game in the Cups last year so if there is one, please merge them together.

He's currently enjoying a very fruitful loan spell at Bolton.

Was picked in the EFL team of the week for the weekend just gone and has just scored a screamer in the League Cup. Whether he has much of a future here behind Trent and Ramsey remains to be seen but he's certainly doing himself no harm with his run of performances early on this season.

Thanks for this good report. Hopefully the loan works for him more like Elliott's did: as a gateway to regular involvement with Liverpool's first team.

Scored the only goal last night in Bolton's 1-0 win over Morecambe.

His loan spell is going alright so far.

Just to say Bolton fans are loving this lad. He's in the Papa John's final with them after a MoTM display in the semi and fighting for promotion into the championship with them.

      As a starter?

I'm not sure he's anywhere near the level were after just yet.

      ;D,  now I didn't say all that.

Nah, as TAAs cover. Give him the cup games. Ramsey hasn't played in basically a year and will need time to get up to speed. Let him be the one that goes out on loan.

If nothing else let's see Bradley move a league up (championship). Kid's got spunk

It's still a long shot. Its League one football. I hope he shows up in preseason and surprises me, but I'll be convinced when I see it.

The RB position is an interesting one. Do we need someone to come in if we keep that system, essentially a back three when in possession with the RB (Trent going into the middle)? If we are going to revert back to a back 4 with Trent at RB then we need to buy serious competition. Another year of a youngster barely getting a sniff as main competition for that position wont cut it. Of course, proper recruitment in the middle will help a lot with the covering our full-backs get, but still.

Yes I think that’s the natural next step

Hopefully with Bolton if they get through the playoffs

I would send him in January if we're not buying a new RB to be safe if injuries happen.

Agree, be good to have him in the squad for a few months after pre-season. He might also get a few games in domestic cups and Europa League/Conference League if we finish 5th-7th.

Exactly. He will get game time for sure. Battle between him and Ramsey hopefully.

I didn't realize he was voted as Bolton's player of the year. He must have done something right.
Surely it's worth giving him a chance in pre season. He could be a decent backup for Trent, now that Ramsay's out on loan.

I think another loan move for him would be more beneficial than playing understudy to Trent. Getting another full season of football under his belt would do him, and hopefully us, the world of good. He was exceptional for Bolton throughout all of last year and I'd like to see him make the step up now to Championship football. It could be a real battle then between him and Ramsay, who himself is on loan at Preston - a chance for the club to see who performs better at the same level.

I know we've got the Europa League this year and that will be an opportunity for some of the younger squad players to get minutes but it could also be just six games if we fail to get out of the group. So another loan spell for Bradley this season would be my preferred choice - especially as we may not be playing with a traditional right back role this year.
